    Abstract: The subject invention provides compositions and methods for preserving food products. Specifically, the subject compositions and methods can be used to prolong the consumable life of food products, as well as to reduce and/or prevent spoilage and/or contamination by microbial agents. Preferably, the compositions comprise a blend of one or more glycolipids and one or more lipopeptides. Even more preferably, the compositions comprise sophorolipids and surfactin, lichenysin or another lipopeptide biosurfactant.

    Abstract: The subject invention provides materials and methods for improving facial skin, hair and scalp health using cosmetic yeast-based masks. In a specific embodiment, the subject invention provides a yeast-based mask for application to the face, which can improve the health and appearance of thereof. In another specific embodiment, the subject invention provides a yeast-based mask for application to the hair and scalp, which can aid in preventing hair loss, as well as improve the health and appearance of the hair and scalp. Methods of using the yeast-based masks are also provided.

    Abstract: This invention relates to compositions and methods of microbial enhanced oil recovery using biochemical-producing microbes. In specific embodiments, the methods of the subject invention comprise applying a biosurfactant-producing bacteria and/or a growth by-product thereof to an oil-producing site. In preferred embodiments, the bacteria is a strain of Bacillus in spore form. In some embodiments, the methods further comprise applying the bacteria with a yeast fermentation product, an alkaline compound, a polymer, a non-biological surfactant, and/or one or more chelating agents. Advantageously, the subject invention can be useful for stimulating the flow of oil from a well, as well as dissolving scale present in an oil-bearing formation.
