Abstract: An analysis unit formed by an analysis body housing an analysis chamber and having a sample inlet and a supply channel configured to fluidically connect the sample inlet to the analysis chamber. Dried assay reagents are arranged in the analysis chamber and are contained in an alveolar mass. For instance, the alveolar mass is a lyophilized mass formed by excipients and by assay-specific reagents.

Abstract: Sample preparation systems and methods are described having pump control, valve configurations, and control logic that facilitate automatic, inline preparation dilutions of a sample according to at least two dilution operating modes. A system embodiment includes, but is not limited to a first pump configured to drive a carrier fluid; a second pump configured to drive a diluent; and a plurality of selection valves fluidically coupled with the first pump and the second pump, the plurality of selection valves being configured to direct fluid flows from the first pump and the second pump according to at least two modes of operation to provide a single-stage sample dilution according to a first operating mode and to provide a dual-stage sample dilution according to a second operating mode.

Abstract: This invention relates to a blister opening system comprising a blister body (1) arranged over a support surface (1′″); a header (2) comprising an impelling surface (2′), wherein said header (2) is movable relative to the blister body (1) and transmits a pressure against the blister body (1) through the impelling surface (2′) in a pushing direction (3); and a fluidic outlet channel (4) fluidically connected to the blister body (1). The system is characterized in that the impelling surface (2′) is arranged such that, in a relative position between the header (2) and the blister body (1) the pushing direction (3) and the support surface (1′″) form a relative angle (5) substantially different from 90°. Abstract: Cradles for draining liquid from containers are described herein. An example apparatus includes a housing having a bottom wall, a side wall and an open top. The housing is to receive a container having liquid. The example apparatus includes a probe extending upward from the bottom wall toward the open top and is to drain the liquid from the container when the probe is inserted into the container. The example apparatus also includes a sliding lock slidably disposed within the housing that receives a cap or top of the container when the container is inserted into the housing. The sliding lock includes a key slot. The sliding lock is movable when a cap or top of the container has a matching key that engages the key slot, which enables the sliding lock to move downward to expose the probe and drain the liquid from the container.

Abstract: Stabilized indicator compositions, and systems and methods using the same are described. In embodiments the stabilized indicator compositions include a solvent, an indicator, a stabilizer for the indicator, and optionally a buffer. Abstract: A sealing for a reagent container and provides a sealing plug which can be adapted to the respective reagent container. Within the meaning of the present disclosure the terms plug, and stopper will be used synonymously. A liquid which is deposited in a reagent container like a vial or tube is protected by a plug from both, evaporation, and oxidation by ambient air during its presence in the reagent container. In addition, when the reagent container is provided to the analyser, the plug reduces evaporation and oxidation of liquids like reagents. A system comprising the plug and a method for using the plug are also disclosed.
