摘要: Apparatus for blending particulate solids or liquids includes a blending vessel having a racetrack-shaped cross section at each elevation above its lower end. The racetrack-shaped cross section consists of two spaced opposed semicircles having ends that are joined by two spaced parallel line segments. Several embodiments of the apparatus are described; they all employ the racetrack-shaped blending vessel, which is highly effective in promoting mixing. In one embodiment the racetrack-shaped blending vessel is rotated about a horizontal axis so that the material passes through the vessel on each revolution. In another embodiment, a number of racetrack-shaped blending vessels are connected in a vertical sequence so that the material must pass through the blending vessels in succession.

摘要: The invention relates to a material transfer device (1), in particular for use with blenders associated with a material processing device such as a plastics extruding device. The material transfer device (1) can be used for controlling delivery of measured amounts of particulate material to or from a weigh hopper, or for mixing materials in a mixing chamber of the blender. The material transfer device (1) includes a pipe (2) defining a material delivery path. The pipe (2) has a material inlet (4) and a material outlet (5). An air inlet manifold (10) encircling the pipe (2) is connected by an air supply line (14) to a pressurised air supply. Air outlets (12) of the manifold (10) direct an air stream towards the outlet (5) of the pipe (2) to draw material through the pipe (2) from a hopper (6) of particulate material (7), the pipe inlet (4) being located within the hopper (6). An air inlet valve (16) in the air supply line (14) is connected to a controller (22) which is operable to open an shut the valve (16) for pulsing the gas steam to control the amount of material delivered through the pipe (2).

摘要: In the mixing of two or more particulate solid feeds in proportional ratios in which the unmixed solids are fed from separate bin receivers into a common mixture bin receiver having a generally vertical section, the present invention comprises an improved feeder in which a feeder means extends below the level of the solids in the common mixture bin. The improved feeder means of this invention comprises at least two nested conduits of differing horizontal cross-sectional areas. One or more of these nested conduits may be raised (or lowered) by an adjusting means to engage a conduit having a greater (or lesser) horizontal cross-sectional area enabling the proportions of particulate solids being fed to be changed as desired.

摘要: A gravity circulation mixer for bulk goods including a mixing container in which the bulk goods are divided into two quantity flows. After having recombined the two individual quantity flows of bulk goods in a mixing bowl, it is conveyed via a vertical ascending pipe and a gravity pipe back into the mixing container. The gravity pipe is arranged at an angle with respect to the ascending pipe and extends downwardly into the mixing container. The connection between the ascending pipe and the gravity pipe is constituted by a baffle portion so that the upwardly conveyed bulk goods are deflected at the baffle portion and caused to fall into the mixing container.
