The invention relates to a hot reversing mill equipped with one or more cooling systems consisting of bars of nozzles spraying an aluminum blank. It also relates to the hot rolling process associated with this hot reversing mill wherein the cooling system serves at least once making it possible to produce aluminum sheets advantageously. It also relates to the process for rolling an AA6xxx series aluminum alloy wherein a blank is cooled during the hot rolling and a sheet obtained with this process. The invention makes it possible to enhance the productivity of reversing mills by enhancing the metallurgical quality and/or the productivity of the other fabrication steps. The invention is particularly useful for providing superior quality 6xxx alloy sheets intended for the automotive industry.

As sections of a rolled product (1) pass through a cooling path (2), they are initially cooled in a first cooling phase by front cooling devices (6). The sections are then not cooled in a subsequent second cooling phase. They are finally cooled again in a subsequent third cooling phase, by rear cooling devices (8) of the cooling path (2). A control device (10) of the cooling path receives in each case an initial energy value (EA) exhibited by the sections before they pass through the cooling path (2). The control device furthermore receives a target energy (El *) and a target enthalpy (E2*). The control device controls the front cooling devices (6) in accordance with the first target cooling medium profile (K1 *) while the respective section is passing through the front cooling devices (6). The present disclosure relates to a hot rolling apparatus for manufacturing a metal plate by hot-rolling-treating a metal material including copper. The apparatus includes: a rough rolling device for rolling-treating the metal material, which has been heating-treated, a plurality of times with a back-and-forth movement of the metal material, to mold the metal material into a metal plate; a heat retention/application treatment device for retaining heat of or applying heat to the metal plate molded by the rough rolling device at lower temperatures than in the heating treatment, without applying bending; a finish rolling device for further rolling-treating the metal plate that has been heat-treated by the heat retention/application treatment device; a cooling device for cooling the metal plate that has been rolling-treated by the finish rolling device; and a support table for movably supporting the metal plate from below before and after the rough rolling device while the metal material is moved back and forth by the rough rolling device. According to the present disclosure, it is possible to improve the quality of the metal plate manufactured in the hot rolling apparatus, and also to improve the speed of the process required for rolling.

A steel strip displaying high strength and formability properties is fabricated by coiling a steel strip which has been previously processed through a hot-strip mill from an initial steel having a very low amount of alloying compounds and having a temperature of between 750.degree. and 900.degree. C., the coiled steel strip being maintained at a temperature of between 800.degree. and 650.degree. C. for a period of at least one minute, and thereafter cooled to a temperature of below 450.degree. C., the cooling being accomplished at a rate exceeding 10.degree. C./second.
