摘要: A tool for chip removing machining, including a basic body and two replaceable cutting inserts. Each insert includes a chip-removing main edge situated between a chip surface and a clearance surface, a first insert of which precedes a second insert during machining of a workpiece. The cutting inserts overlap each other in a zone defined by a borderline along which a surface generated by the main edge of the first cutting insert, with a time delay, is intersected by the main edge of the subsequent, second cutting insert. The main edge of the second cutting insert that afterwards intersects the already generated surface, is formed along a chip surface including primary and secondary sections, which have different shapes in cross-sections spaced-apart along the main edge in order to form a primary part edge and a secondary, reinforced part edge arranged to intersect the already generated surface.

The peripheral side surface (14) includes a wiper-edge side surface (14) having constant width as it extends between the first and second end surfaces (2, 3). A boundary of the wiper-edge side surface (14) with a second side surface below the second cutting edge (8) is inclined with respect to a direction perpendicular to the first end surface.

摘要: The invention is directed to a drill system that better uses the power curve of modern machine tools. The drill system uses a two-step drill, utilizing IC inserts to perform the major hole diameter cutting, and a central drilling system. In examples, the IC inserts can be set in a drill head in a single or double effective configuration. A central drilling system cuts the remaining minor diameter portion of the hole, and is configured to see less cutting surface footage, due to its position from the rotating center of the tool. The central drilling system may include a “self-centering” geometry, such that the drill head of the tool with be guided throughout the depth of the hole. The drill system allows for a large diameter deep hole that remains straight throughout to be drilled at higher speed and lighter feed rates thus offering a more productive tool that takes advantage of the power curves and lower thrust capabilities of modern machine tools.

The major cutting edge has a first major cutting edge portion which has a convexly curved shape and extends from the corner cutting edge, and a second major cutting edge portion which smoothly touches the first major cutting edge portion and extends linearly, as seen from a direction facing the rake face. The wiper edge has a straight shape intersecting the second major cutting edge portion at an obtuse angle.

The disposable cutting insert has a long curved blade edge, and the radius vertex of the long blade edge is deviated slightly from an external side of a vertex of the radius of cutting edge. A short curved blade edge is formed between the radius arc vertex and the radius arc vertex of the cutting edge. The vertical distance of the short curved blade edge is greater than the feed rate. The cutting edge cuts the work piece and the short curved blade edge can scrape a small size of material precisely for scraping the peak cut by the cutting edge and lower the height of the peak, so as to lower the surface roughness, and produce a mirror-like surface for an internal periphery of a bored hole.

摘要: A method and a device for machining a workpiece rotating about a rotational axis. The machining point moves along the cutting edge of a cutting edge plane and the surface to be machined in a rolling movement on an advancement plane not intersected by the rotational axis. A pivot drive implements a large enough pivot angle so that a first workpiece surface is machined by a machining point moving along the first cutting edge in a first machining step. In a second machining step, a second workpiece surface is machined, wherein the machining point moves along the second cutting edge and the second workpiece surface. The cutting edge has a curvature radius smaller than the distance from the pivot axis of the holder to the cutting edge. The holder can additionally be displaced on the advancement plane with a movement component in a direction transverse to the rotational axis.
