    摘要: An apparatus for machining a workpiece with a tool has a columnar housing having an upright front face and a pair of upright and parallel side walls extending horizontally rearward from the front face, a carriage movable at least vertically on the front face carries a first holder for the workpiece or the tool. A U-shaped frame juxtaposed with the housing front face has two rigid arms each extending rearward adjacent the housing side walls with interfitting guides between each of the arms and the respective side wall enabling horizontal movement of the frame toward and away from the front face. A second holder on the frame and in front of the front wall holds the tool or the workpiece and is engageable with the workpiece or the tool, respectively, in the first holder.

    摘要: The invention relates to a machine tool (1) comprising a machine tower (2) which can be displaced in a linear manner along a straight track (13), a tool head (4) which is arranged on the machine tower (2) and a tool (5) which is used to process work pieces. A first mounting device (25) is arranged on a first side of the straight track (13) and a second mounting device (26) is arranged on the other side of the straight track (13) which is opposite the first side. The tool head (4) can be positioned in such a manner that it can selectively process a first work piece in the first mounting device (25) or a second work piece in the second mounting device (26). Initially, the first work piece is mounted in the first mounting device for processing, and the tool head is positioned in such a manner that the first work piece can be processed. During processing, the second work piece is mounted in the second mounting device. When the first work piece has been processed, the tool head is positioned in such a manner that the second work piece can be processed. As a result, it is possible to arrange two long work pieces independently from each other in a processing position. The stoppage time when the work pieces are changed reduces due to the new position of the tool head and is significantly reduced in relation to the stoppage time in common tool machines.

Furthermore, the control means can cause the turning tool rest to perform a turning motion about an arbitrary position that differs from the position of the turning axis by concurrently and synchronously causing a turning motion of the turning tool rest about the turning axis, and a circular-arc motion based on the relative motion of the tool rest main body in the first linear direction and second linear direction.

A support for bearing the second part of the second pair of parts is coupled to the second base part to be able to swivel by means of a swivel joint around a swivel axis which is located at right angles to the linear guide such that the second part of the second pair of parts can be moved by actuating the swivel joint with a second translational degree of freedom on a circular path. The reaction forces and moments which are formed in the machining of the workpiece with the tool are accommodated by the swivel joint which is made stiff; this makes it possible to make the drive means for actuating the swivel joint lightweight. The movement device is relatively simple to produce, dynamic and moreover has a high ratio of useful working space to the required construction space.

A single device can provide both the cutting and the bonding. The present invention enables to cut down equipment cost, installation space, plant area, lead time and production cost.
