    摘要: A concrete tile comprising a tile body, the tile body having an upper face hardened through non-mold shaping, a lower face hardened through mold shaping, and a side surface that includes a cut end face in at least one side of the tile body, wherein the tile body contains alkali-resistant fiber in an entire thickness thereof in a state substantially free of fiber-containing granular bodies; the alkali-resistant fibers comprise at least one member selected from the group consisting of polyvinyl alcohol-based fibers, polyethylene fibers, polypropylene fibers, acrylic fibers, and aramid fibers; and a flexural strength of a 30 mm×150 mm sized cut piece of the tile body is not less than 6 N/mm2.

    摘要: A multi-zone cementitious product, which includes a base zone made of a first cementitious material composition and forming a portion of the product. At least one facing zone is adjacent to and bonded to the base zone, the facing zone made of a second cementitious material composition and forming at least one exterior face of said product which is visible when the product is installed. A disrupted boundary layer is between the facing zone and the base zone, and includes material from both the facing zone and the base zone. The disrupted boundary layer bonds the facing zone to the base zone. The facing zone has a thickness sufficient to prevent the base zone from being visible when the product is installed.

    摘要: A method of making the tile dispenses wet concrete having two different colors into a partitioned pug box for disposition onto opposite sides of a pallet, so that, the two different colors reside on opposite sides of the pallet in side-by-side relation. The wet concrete is metered and compressed by a roller and shaped by a slipper to provide the concrete tile with a desired cross-sectional shape, following which the concrete is then chopped by a knife assembly to form the individual tiles with desired edge configurations. The concrete is cured and then removed from the pallets to form the completed tiles. The method may be incorporated into a continuous process in which a succession of the pallets are passed by a conveyor beneath a making head assembly containing the partitioned pug box and the roller and slipper and then beneath a knife assembly to form a succession of the concrete tiles.

    摘要: A lightweight wallboard having a density in the range of 10 pcf to 30 pcf and comprised of a faced layer of expanded siliceous inorganic particles, such as expanded perlite, bonded together by inorganic binder, such as sodium silicate. The board is made by depositing a mixture of particles, binder and water onto a moving web of facing material, contacting the mixture with an upper moving web of facing material, compacting the mixture to the desired shape and density and drying the resulting board. Fire resistant and water repellent versions of the formula are also disclosed.

    摘要: In the manufacture of ceramic substrates by the tape casting process, improved control of thickness variations in the "green" ceramic tape is achieved by using a free-riding roller positioned within a drying chamber at a preselected location at which the cast slip has formed a dry skin yet remains fluidly deformable. The roller pressure is adjusted to a value just sufficient to redistribute the surface of the cast slip into a straight line without changing the cross-sectional area of the tape along the line of roller contact to avoid "bubble" buildup ahead of the roller and rupture of the surface skin.
