摘要: This is a method to alter a two-dimensional work into a three-dimensional version of that work, and then disguise it as a common two-dimensional work. The two-dimensional work must be malleable or made malleable by adhering a malleable backing, such as sheet metal, such that it retains the new shape when bent. Foreground elements of the work's subject matter are then moved physically closer to the viewer than background elements by sculpting techniques like bending, thus making the original work now three-dimensional. The work is then enclosed in a structure like a box with a window allowing the work to be seen. The window obscures the edges of the work such that viewing the art from multiple angles doesn't easily reveal the edge of work.

摘要: Art meets technology in this invention of a Metal Postcard. Combining the technology of sublimation on metal, and artful images, this invention creates a luminescent Metal Postcard that can stand the test of time, as it will withstand exposure to the elements. Metal Postcards give the sender and receiver, both, the reassuring feeling that their thoughts and sentiment expressed by the card, will last exponentially beyond the life span of a paper card. Because the Postcard is made of a single sheet of metal, and has been determined by the U.S. Postal Service as approved to send through the mail, and that it will last longer than paper, makes it superior to its predecessors, paper and mixed element/paper postcards. It is simplicity in form; one piece of metal, two-sided with an image on one side and a postcard template with a greeting or note, an area for an address of the recipient and an area for a postal stamp, on the other side, yet it is technologically complex using the sublimation process on metal. This metal postcard delivers an iridescent and beautiful greeting and can be displayed as one would any piece of art.

Also included within the invention are dynamically-variable graphic display panels comprising electrostatic particles that each comprise a plurality of sectors, each having a different color and a fixed magnetic polarity relative to said sectors, and a plurality of electrodynamic contacts, each contact located adjacent to an electrostatic particle and positioned for interaction with one of the electrostatic particles.

摘要: The disclosure provides apparatus and methods of manufacture pertaining to a layered artwork that provides the illusion of depth, or three-dimensional volume, and that shifts in color and spatial relationships as a viewer moves in relation to the artwork or as the light cast upon the artwork changes in intensity, angle, and/or color. The layered artwork may include a base image reproduced on a rigid substrate and at least one top image reproduced on one or more translucent substrates. The translucent substrates may be suspended above the rigid substrate such that a viewer sees both the base and top images when viewing the artwork. Other embodiments are also disclosed.
