    摘要: According to the invention, simple measuring apparatus (10) is produced which is designed to ascertain if a so-called spring strut (50) appertaining to the front wheel suspension in a vehicle has been deformed or more specifically if it has been bent, the apparatus being designed to be used primarily on wheels equipped with disc brakes. The apparatus is used in situ, i.e. on a spring strut (50) mounted in place in the vehicle, and it is necessary only for the wheel to be removed, with the tire and rim, so that the disc brake (40) is exposed. The measuring apparatus consists of an upright (12) which is attached to a base part (14, 20) designed to be attached, preferably by means of permanent magnets (24, 26), to the outside of the brake disc (40). The upright (12) bears movably a measuring arm (30) equipped with a length scale and projecting out from the upright (12) at right angles to the plane of the brake disc (40); this arm also bears movably a pointer device ( 36) which can be made to seek out the center (60) of the upper fixing (55) of the spring strut (50) in the bodywork. After this adjustment, the perpendicular distance (a) from the fixing center (60) to the plane of the brake disc (40) can be read off on the scale on the measuring arm (30). From the knowledge of this distance it can be established whether or not the spring strut (50) has been deformed (bent).

    摘要: Apparatus for vehicle wheel alignment comprising a wheel engaging member and a bearing surface rigidly mountable to the wheel engaging member. A lever with a movable fulcrum is mounted to the bearing surface for applying an appropriately directed force to the bearing surface to adjust the alignment of an engaged wheel. A bracing member is provided extendable from the lever for attachment to an anchor surface. The bracing member provides a reaction force to ensure that the aligning force generated by the lever is directed toward the engaged wheel. Alternative embodiments of the invention can be used to adjust wheel alignment on straight axle and trailing arm axle vehicles.

    摘要: A mount is provided having a central portion defining first and second sides and provided with a plurality of openings formed therethrough for support of the mount from a vehicle hub wheel mounting portion with the first side of the mount opposing the hub. The mount includes remote lever arm portions extending outwardly from the central portion in opposite directions generally normal to a ray normal to the first side of the mount and an anchor arm is carried by one of the lever arm portions and projects outwardly of the second side of the mount. An elongated lever arm is also provided and has one end portion pivotally supported from the anchor arm outer end for oscillation about an axis transverse to the lever on end of the anchor arm and the other end portion of the lever arm spaced laterally outwardly from the second side of the mount in registry with the other lever arm portion. Hydraulic jack structure is operatively associated with the other end portion of the lever arm and the other lever arm portion for jacking the latter away from the former and elongated tension member structure is provided including one end for releasable anchoring to the upper end portion of a McPherson strut and structure at the other end for selective releasable connection to selected ends of the lever arm.
