The first piece (42) may have a first wall, a second wall and a first axle seat piece engagement portion providing a first engagement surface. The second piece (50) may have a third wall and a second axle seat piece engagement portion providing a second engagement surface. The first wall and the second wall of the first piece are oriented to engage a front surface of an axle body and the third wall of the second piece is oriented to engage a rear surface (30) of an axle body. The first and second engagement surfaces of the respective first and second pieces of the axle seat assembly are positioned and configured to engage one another to removably and reversibly secure with the use of a fastener the first piece to the second piece to form an axle seat assembly.

A control arm for the rear wheel suspension of a car where the control arm includes a cup-shaped spring mount with branches projecting from the spring seat. The branches may be designed as closed channels or U-shaped channels. In the upper part of the control arm there are flanges projecting from each side thereof. The flanges include a reinforced area around the spring seat. The cup-shaped spring seat is reinforces with wedges on the inside thereof. The spring seat and branches form a stiff frame structure. The invention relates to a single-shell spring control arm, for a wheel suspension of a motor vehicle, comprising a first end portion for attaching to a chassis beam a second end portion for attaching on the wheel side, and an increased-width portion which is arranged between the two end portions, and which comprises a spine having flanks projecting therefrom and which defines a spring seat for supporting a spring. In order to attain high component rigidity and a wheel suspension which is optimized with regard to loads, the invention proposes that inwardly deformed surface parts are formed on the flanks, the longitudinal edges of which surface parts are spaced apart from one another along their entire length so that the increased-width portion has a C-profile-shaped cross-sectional profile, and in that a connection portion for attaching a shock absorber is formed between the spring seat and the second end portion.
