Abstract:
The present disclosure provides a β-diketone storage container including: a metal storage container to which a liquid β-diketone is charged, the metal being an aluminum material; and an inorganic film on an inner surface of the storage container, the inorganic film containing at least one material selected from the group consisting of silicon dioxide, silicon carbonitride, silicon carbide, silicon nitride, diamond, and diamond-like carbon.
Abstract:
A chelating system for inclusion in a composition at least stored in a polymer lined metal passivated steel container which provides for stability of both the composition and the container. The composition preferably is a cleaning composition including a color-changing dye or indicator. The chelating system provides for stable storage of the composition through preventing degradation of the dye/indicator over an extended storage time. The chelating system included in the composition has a low affinity for the passivation metal on the steel container which provides for stability of the polymer liner present over the passivation layer and, thus, provides for the stability of the container. A preferred combination is a cleaning composition including (a) tetrasodium iminodisuccinate as the chelant and (b) a pH sensitive color-changing dye/indicator, in combination with a PET-lined chromium passivated tin-free steel container.
Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to a single-use bag for storing a material, the single-use bag including at least two layers, wherein a layer that is in contact with the material is an active layer. The active layer may be made active by incorporating a scavenger into the layer. At least one layer of the single-use bag may comprise a polymer or a fluoropolymer.
Abstract:
Oxidation-sensitive, low-peroxide polymer contained in a sealed, protective-gas-filled packaging form, comprising, per kilogram of polymer solid, at least one inorganic phosphorus compound in amounts such that the total phosphorus content is 2*10−5 to 0.02 mol, and methods for stabilizing oxidation-sensitive polymer against peroxide formation, wherein, during or after the polymerization, at least one inorganic phosphorus compound is added in one or more portions in amounts such that the total phosphorus content per kilogram of polymer solid content of the finished polymer is 2*10−5 to 0.02 mol, and the polymer treated in such a way is placed into a protective-gas filled, sealed packaging form, and also use of these polymers.
Abstract:
We describe methods that allow either carbodiimides or other carboxyl-reactive substances to be mixed with solutions of carboxylic acids or phosphates or amines or combinations thereof, so as to form a homogeneous mixture which is then dried, preferably in a freeze drying process. The mixture is then contacted with an entity, which preferably involves the dissolution of the mixture with a buffered solution of the entity, so as to initiate a conjugation reaction between the entity and a component in the mixture.
Abstract:
A composite material having reinforcing fibres and a matrix of matrix material surrounding the reinforcing fibres. The matrix material contains a resin and the reinforcing fibres contain polyphenylene sulfide.
Abstract:
A water soluble film useful in unit-dose chemical packaging is disclosed. The film may include: a water soluble saccharide and a polyvinyl alcohol copolymer consisting essentially of: (a) from 80 to 99 mole percent of vinyl alcohol and vinyl ester monomer; and (b) from 1 to 20 mole percent of a pyrrolidone comonomer. Such compositions may be used to provide a water-soluble film simultaneously satisfying requirements in regard to water solubility, biodegradability, and physical properties, even when used for packaging of harsh, oxidizing chemicals.
Abstract:
The field of transporting hazardous materials and specifically to a pallet that holds containers for receiving a liquid, for example an organic peroxide, which, for safety reasons, can only be transported in small amounts. A device that includes 2 to 20, and preferably 2 to 10, containers attached onto a pallet, said containers being intended to contain a hazardous material in liquid form, the containers all having a volume greater than 100 L and preferably between 120 to 300 L.
Abstract:
A method of packing a package in an overpack salvage drum that includes a drum body for holding the package to be overpacked, a lid adapted to be rotatably threaded onto the drum body to seal the package held in the drum body therein, and a clip adapted to be operatively associated with the lid before the lid is rotatably threaded onto the drum body. The method includes placing the package into a drum body, operatively associating a clip to a lid that is adapted to be rotatably threaded onto the drum body, and rotatably threading the lid with the clip operatively associated therewith onto the drum body to seal the package therein, wherein the clip is adapted to break in preference to the lid and the drum body when the seal between the lid and the drum body is first compromised.
Abstract:
An overpack salvage drum including a drum body for holding a package to be overpacked, a lid adapted to be rotatably threaded onto the drum body to seal the package held in the drum body therein, and a clip adapted to be operatively associated with the lid before the lid is rotatably threaded onto the drum body. The clip is adapted to break in preference to the lid and the drum body in the event that the initial integrity of the seal between the lid and the drum body is compromised.
