摘要: The present invention relates to a process for producing single cell protein, wherein a thermophilic fungus is grown a fermentable carbon-rich feedstock at a high temperature and at an acidic pH. This allows for a cost effective fermentation process that can to be run under non-sterile conditions and without additional cooling requirements. The process can be used to convert by-products or waste from agriculture or food production, or organic fractions of municipal solid waste into valuable single cell protein that can be applied as dietary source of protein or protein supplement in human food or animal feed.

摘要: The present invention relates generally to the field of degrading polyurethane (PU), for example PU layers in multi-layer packaging. For example, the present invention relates to a method of degrading polyurethane (PU) comprising the step of subjecting the PU to an enzyme cocktail comprising at least one lipase and at least one cutinase. The PU may be a PU-based layer in a multilayer packaging structure comprised in a packaging. Remarkably, the subject matter of the present invention allows the efficient selective degradation of PU containing layers in multi-layer packaging materials.

摘要: The present disclosure is directed to methods of converting food waste to polymers comprising poly(lactic) acid and an additive and biodegradable products thereof. The methods include providing a feedstock comprising food waste, hydrolyzing the feedstock with an enzyme and fermenting the feedstock with a microbe to produce a mixture, isolating lactic acid from the mixture, converting the lactic acid to poly(lactic) acid, adding, reacting, grafting, and/or cross-linking an additive to the poly(lactic) acid to produce a polymer mixture, and forming the polymer with the polymer mixture.
