    摘要： A covering system is designed as an elongated strip of covering material having an outer layer, a barrier layer laminated thereto and an integral moldable layer secured to the barrier layer for mounting on the surface of boards, such as deck planks. In a preferred embodiment, strips are preferably secured to the length of the boards solely by a layer of a pressure sensitive adhesive carried by the strip. The moldable material is applied in an amount of about at least 185 grams per square meter. A removable release sheet covers the adhesive surface of the moldable material. The release sheet can include a positioning mechanism and indicia such as the direction of the pile and measuring guides. The moldable layer provides sufficient adhesion across the width of the strip for both initial application and sufficient thickness for subsequently molding to the board surface for long term adhesion. The barrier layer is impermeable and provides protection against dermal contact with the surface of treated lumber.

    摘要： A carpet mat assembly with shock absorbing properties includes a mat made of closed cell foam sections. The mat sections are sized to be readily portable, preferably 4 foot by 6 foot in size. The mat thickness is selected to conform to ASTM F1292-99. Preferably, the mat thickness is 1⅛″ thick. The mat section may be coated with a pressure sensitive adhesive covering on one side of the mat. The pressure sensitive adhesive is covered with a removable liner. The liner is removed to expose the pressure sensitive adhesive. Carpet is applied to the coated surface of the mat and the pressure sensitive adhesive bonds the carpet to the mat. The outer perimeters of each mat may be lined with a hook and pile fastener such as 3M Velcro® for attaching multiple sections of the carpet mat assembly securely together. On the outer perimeter of mat sections not joined to other mat sections, an edge molding preferably made from the same closed cell foam may be integral, or may be attached to the mat with a contact adhesive, or by other means. The completed assembly provides a floor or ground surface safe for playgrounds, schools, child care centers, martial arts, gymnasiums or other areas where shock absorbing surfaces are required.

The method includes the steps of: treating a base for supporting a covering with a material containing a particulate subject to a magnetic attraction or a magnetically-attracting particulate; producing the covering for attachment to the base so that the covering contains a magnetically-attracting particulate material or a magnetic attraction particulate, the particulate of the covering being different from the particulate of the base so that the covering and the base are magnetically-attractable to one another; and, placing a side of the covering against the base so that the covering is temporarily attached to the base by magnetization and without an adhesive. A surfacer material or a precoat, which magnetically-attractable material, may also be applied to the base.

    摘要： An adhesive composition comprising a mixture of water based polymer in latex form and a material generally referred to as a thickening agent is disclosed for removably adhering a product to a substrate, for example a carpet with an attached backing to a flooring substrate. The adhesive may be applied as a layer to the carpet backing, dried and subsequently activated with water to adhere the carpet to the floor. After drying, the adhesive layer may be reactivated with water to permit the carpet to be removed from the floor. The adhesive layer when dried on the surface of a latex foam backed carpet provides a non-tacky surface which additionally increases the abrasion resistance of the latex foam backing thereby reducing damage to the backing during normal storage and handling.
