    摘要: A system includes a reciprocating engine, the reciprocating engine includes a poppet valve having a first valve end and a second valve end. The poppet valve includes a valve head having the first valve end. The valve head may open and close a fluid passageway within the reciprocating engine. The poppet valve also includes a stem extending from the valve head and having a first length. The stem has the second valve end and the second valve end is substantially opposite the first valve end. The poppet valve also includes a cavity aligned with a centerline axis of the poppet valve. The cavity includes a first region disposed within the valve head and a second region disposed within the stem, and the second region has a second length that is shorter than the first length. The poppet valve further includes a metal alloy disposed within the cavity. The metal alloy is in a liquid-phase during operation of the reciprocating engine and may transfer heat from the valve head to the stem.

Parts of the valve head portion semifinished product other than a central part to a lower part of the diameter-increased section (111) are necked down by cold forging performed a plurality of times to obtain the finished product of the valve head portion (1).

    摘要: A hollow poppet valve (10) having an improved heat transfer capability is provided. The valve has an internal cavity (S), extending from within a valve head (14) into a stem (12) of the valve, is loaded with a coolant (19) together with an inert gas. The coolant in the valve head (14) is stirred by swirl flows of the coolant generated during reciprocal motions of the valve. A multiplicity of swirl-forming protrusions are formed on at least on one of the bottom and the ceiling of the valve head cavity (S1) in such a way that swirl flows (F20, F30) of coolant are generated by the protrusions in the valve head cavity (S1) during reciprocal motions of the valve to thereby stir the coolant in the circumferential direction of the cavity (S1).

    摘要: A hollow poppet valve (10) has an internal cavity (S) which comprises a diametrically large valve head cavity (S1) formed in a valve head (14) and a diametrically small stem cavity (S2) formed in a stem (12) in communication with the valve head cavity (S1). The stem cavity has a diametrically larger first portion (S21) near the end of the stem and a diametrically smaller second portion (S22) near the valve head. A step (17) is formed at the boundary of the first and the second portion of the stem cavity (S2). The internal cavity is loaded with a coolant to a level above the step, together with an inert gas. In response to a reciprocal motion of the valve, turbulent flows of coolant (F9) are created in the neighborhood of the step (17), facilitating active stirring of the coolant (19) in the cavity (S).

    摘要: A method for producing a hollow engine valve is disclosed which involves gradually reducing the size of the outer diameter and inner diameter of a hollow shaft of a semi-finished product sequentially inserting the hollow shaft into a plurality of molding holes having different hole shapes so as to gradually extend the length of the hollow shaft, and forming the hollow shaft into a predetermined shape by sequentially performing a drawing process. The semi-finished product is subjected to heat treatment such that the hardness thereof is equal to or less than a predetermined hardness, and the maximum thickness between the hollow shaft and an umbrella portion connected to the bottom edge of the hollow shaft is formed to be thicker than the thickness of the hollow shaft by means of a molding hole of a die which is adjusted to have a specific length and maximum inner diameter.
