摘要： Methods and systems are provided for an oil pump mounting structure that provides accessibility and removal of the oil pump without removing a balancer shaft. While periodically servicing or replacing the oil pump may be necessary throughout the lifetime of an engine, it is desirable to allow for easy removal of the oil pump without removing and reassembling other engine components. To provide alignment and a rigid connection between the oil pump and engine frame while allowing for removal of the oil pump without removing other components, dowel bolts with unthreaded, threaded, and dowel portions are used to mount the oil pump to the engine frame.

摘要： A baffle plate structure includes an oil pan, an oil pump, a baffle plate, and a resin oil strainer. The baffle plate is to separate an interior of the oil pan into a crank case side and a oil chamber side. The resin oil strainer includes an inlet portion and a parallel portion. The inlet portion extends toward a bottom surface of the oil pan. The inlet portion has an inlet port for lubricant at a lower part of the inlet portion. The parallel portion extends from the inlet portion in a direction substantially parallel to the baffle plate to introduce the lubricant from the inlet portion to the oil pump. The baffle plate has an opening corresponding to the parallel portion of the resin oil strainer. The parallel portion of the resin oil strainer is disposed so as to close the opening.

摘要： An interchangeable lubricating oil pump for use with two internal combustion engines having different lubrication requirements includes a pump housing and a drive shaft rotatably supported in an opening through the pump housing. A first end of the drive shaft provides a drive gear mounting location. First and second idler gear mounting locations of the pump housing are positioned a common distance from the drive gear mounting location. The interchangeable lubricating oil pump also includes a set of interchangeable gears including a small interchangeable gear and a large interchangeable gear. A first configuration for a first internal combustion engine having a first lubrication requirement includes the large interchangeable gear mounted at the drive gear mounting location and the small interchangeable gear mounted at the first idler gear mounting location. A second configuration for a second internal combustion engine having a second lubrication requirement includes the small interchangeable gear mounted at the drive gear mounting location and the large interchangeable gear mounted at the second idler gear mounting location.

摘要： A lubricating structure for an engine includes a crankcase for supporting a crankshaft formed from a pair of case halves coupled to each other along a mating plane extending along a plane perpendicular to an axial line of the crankshaft. An oil reservoir in a lower portion of the crankcase extends across the mating plane. A pump chamber of an oil pump is formed between the two case halves across the mating plane. Lubricant is drawn from the oil reservoir into the oil pump using a structure which can achieve reduction of the number of parts and improve the ease of assembly. The structure includes a path groove, which forms an oil suction path for interconnecting the oil pump and the oil reservoir, formed in at least one of the two case halves.
