摘要: A catalytic motor vehicle radiator for cooling a coolant flowing through it has a catalytically acting surface for converting a pollutant into an environmentally compatible material, a temperature sensor for sensing a coolant temperature, and an attachment point for attaching the temperature sensor. The temperature sensor has an attachment for attaching the temperature sensor to the attachment point of the catalytic motor vehicle radiator, and includes an electrical identification unit for identifying the catalytic motor vehicle radiator. The attachment interacts with an attachment point of the catalytic motor vehicle radiator in such a way that, if the temperature sensor is removed from the catalytic motor vehicle radiator, the temperature sensor is destroyed.

摘要: A method and apparatus for detecting the presence of a prescribed heat exchanger, such as a catalytically active radiator, in a motor vehicle are performed during operation of the motor vehicle. The temperature of a heat-exchanger medium is observed together with further current operationally relevant parameters of the motor vehicle for a prespecified time window. An expected temperature gradient over time of the heat-exchanger medium is detected, as well as the current temperature gradient over time of the temperature of the heat-exchanger medium. The presence of a prescribed heat exchanger is detected taking into account the expected temperature gradient and the current temperature gradient.

摘要: Device and method for determining the state of ageing of an exhaust-gas catalytic converter wherein an oxygen sensor having an oxygen-sensitive region and a temperature-sensitive region can be actuated in such a manner that a temperature measurement and, as an alternative, an oxygen partial pressure measurement can be carried out. There is provision for an electrical conductivity of a conductor structure of the oxygen sensor to be determined and for an exhaust-gas temperature to be determined therefrom. From the sensor measurements, the extent of exhaust gas catalytic converter ageing may be assessed.

摘要: An exhaust gas purification system for an internal combustion engine of a motor vehicle is provided. The system includes a first particulate filter element and a second particulate filter element, which is connected downstream of the first particulate filter element and through which flows the exhaust gas that emanates from the first particulate filter element. The first particulate filter element operates as a system filter and the second particulate filter element operates as a diagnostic filter. A charge of the diagnostic filter can be determined, and the functional capability of the system filter can be deduced based thereon.

摘要: A method for determining the storage state of an ammonia-storing SCR catalyst, the change in at least one physical property of the SCR catalyst material, changing with the NH3 storing process, being sensed, the measurement taking place on the SCR catalyst material itself by applying a measuring pickup to the SCR catalyst or bringing it into direct contact with the latter and determining the storage state on the basis of these results. In an alternative embodiment, a material identical or similar to the SCR catalyst material with regard to its physical properties is arranged in the exhaust-gas stream in addition to the SCR catalyst material, and the change in at least one physical property of this substitute material changing with the NH3 storing process, is sensed, the measurement taking place on the substitute material itself by applying the substitute material to the measuring pickup or bringing it into direct contact with the latter and determining the storage state of the SCR catalyst on the basis of these results.
