摘要: A method includes initiating a low engine-out NOx (LEON) mode by controlling a component of a vehicle having an aftertreatment system to decrease an instantaneous engine-out NOx (EONOx) amount. The method also includes comparing a temperature of the aftertreatment system to a threshold temperature. The method also includes responsive to determining that the temperature of the aftertreatment system exceeds the threshold temperature, disengaging the LEON mode. The method also includes responsive to determining that the temperature of the aftertreatment system is below the threshold temperature, comparing a NOx value to a NOx value threshold. The method also includes disengaging the LEON mode responsive to determining that the NOx value exceeds the NOx value threshold.

摘要: A computer-implemented method for controlling direct injection of hydrogen fuel into an engine cylinder of a vehicle from a hydrogen tank via an injector system. The method includes determining a present hydrogen pressure in the hydrogen tank; determining a present requested engine torque and speed; determining a target injection pressure for injecting hydrogen into the engine combustion chamber using a model the target injection pressure is the injection pressure that, according to the model, minimizes the mechanical work of the compressor, that provides an in-cylinder pressure sufficient for the engine to provide the requested engine torque and speed, that provides NOx emission below a predetermined maximum NOx emission level, and that reduces engine fuel consumption, and adjusting the injector pressure according to the determined target injection pressure.

摘要: A fuel combustion apparatus 2 according to the present invention includes: a combustion cylinder 4; a fuel feed unit 6 that introduces a swirling flow of an air-fuel mixture into the combustion cylinder; an ignition unit 10 including an igniter 32 located in the combustion cylinder 4; an ion detection unit 12 including a detector 40 located in the combustion cylinder 4; and a control unit 14 that adjusts a mixing ratio of the fuel based on a detection result obtained by the ion detection unit 12. Preferably, the fuel is ammonia. Preferably, the detector 40 is located in the vicinity of the igniter 32.

摘要: A method and system for determining remaining useful life of an in-use injector of a reciprocating engine is disclosed. The method includes determining nozzle wear relationship data for different duty cycles of the in-use injector, and using the nozzle wear relationship data together with operating parameters for the reciprocating engine, and emission relationship data to determine actual emission levels for the in-use injector based on the wear relationship data and the emission relationship data. The method and system further include determining remaining useful life of the in-use injector based on actual emission levels and the nozzle wear relationship data; and controlling an operation of the reciprocating engine based on the actual emission levels.

摘要: A gasoline compression ignition engine, a vehicle and a method of operating a gasoline compression ignition engine. An inlet air management system includes a membrane-based separator and an exhaust gas recirculation flowpath that cooperate to deliver a nitrogen enriched air stream to the engine to help reduce exhaust gas emissions. The separator segregates the incoming air into the nitrogen enriched air stream as well as an oxygen enriched air stream such that the latter can be used for various engine load conditions, as well as for supplemental air for a cabin or related passenger compartment within a vehicle that is powered by the engine. Significantly, during an increase in engine load not associated with the cold start and warm-up conditions, the nitrogen enriched air supply that is used for the exhaust gas emissions reduction is provided at least partially by the nitrogen enriched air stream from the separator, as well as increasingly by the nitrogen enriched combustion product stream from the exhaust gas recirculation flowpath.

摘要: A method for operating an internal combustion engine having a motor and an exhaust gas aftertreatment system having an exhaust gas aftertreatment component, wherein exhaust gas formed in the motor during combustion of fuel is guided via the exhaust gas aftertreatment system for cleaning, includes: determining an exhaust gas actual value that depends upon an actual value of a nitrogen dioxide fraction in the exhaust gas upstream of the exhaust gas aftertreatment component; and changing at least one operating parameter for the motor such that the actual value of the nitrogen dioxide fraction is brought closer to a corresponding reference value for the nitrogen dioxide fraction.

摘要: A method of calculating a nitrogen oxide (NOx) mass adsorbed in a lean NOx trap (LNT) of an exhaust purification device includes calculating a NOx mass flow stored in the LNT, calculating a NOx mass flow thermally released from the LNT, calculating a NOx mass flow released from the LNT at the rich air/fuel ratio, calculating a NOx mass flow chemically reacting with the reductant at the LNT, and integrating a value obtained by subtracting the NOx mass flow thermally released from the LNT, the NOx mass flow released from the LNT at the rich air/fuel ratio, and the NOx mass flow chemically reacting with the reductant at the LNT from the NOx mass flow stored in the LNT.

摘要: A provision of assemblies and methods for treating an exhaust gas from an internal combustion engine. The treatment method comprises at least two catalyst stages. The exhaust gas is directed to a first stage catalyst. After the first stage catalyst, the exhaust is passed to an inter-catalyst stage comprising an exhaust cooling process and an oxygen enrichment process. Next, the exhaust is passed to a second stage catalyst for reducing carbon monoxide, ammonia and hydrocarbon concentration in the exhaust gas, before exiting via an outlet.
