The invention comprises a hydraulic pump, wherein wave energy is used to pump a fluid. The apparatus utilizes the oscillation of the free surface of a water column within a moon pool on a floating vessel to lift a floating pump unit. After reaching a peak elevation induced by a passing wave, the gravitational forces on the floater pressurizes and moves a fluid using structurally linked pistons within fixed cylinders on the vessel during the downward return motion of the floater. The pressurized fluid can then be used in a variety of applications including the generation of electricity via hydroelectric turbines.

The system includes at least one extraction unit with a supporting structure suspended from the construction, fixed at the top to a first platform and closed at the bottom by a base, and an energy-generating mechanism inside the supporting structure. The hydraulic wave energy converter can convert the vertical component and the horizontal component of the wave motion into high-pressure water energy for impacting a hydraulic generator set to generate power, and is lower in cost, simple in maintenance and high in wave energy conversion efficiency.

The power generation platform is mounted on guide posts extended into the seabed. The cross lifting lever is provided in the throughhole in the middle of the platform. The lower part of the cross lifting lever is fixed with the buoyant tank by a movable connection rod. The roller mechanism is mounted at both sides of the buoyant tank and appressed to the guide posts. A fluid transformer is comprised of standard components arranged in a novel way that gives a substantial high efficiency gain in overall transmission over prior art transfomers. The transformer is applied in a example of continuous application where high efficiency is important, that of a wave energy converter, (WEC), that reciprocates as recurring waves pass over. The transformer operates with single-acting, double-acting and helical hydraulic actuators to pressurize hydraulic fluid in an energy conversion system and power a hydraulic motor that drive an electric generator. A sensor system detects characteristics of in-coming waves, or alternatively waves in the process of wave making, by detecting changes in pressure as waves pass over the sensor system. A control computer system calculates characteristics of the waves such as wave height and speed data, and uses the data to control aspects of the WECs and components of the transformer system.
