摘要: A turbo-molecular pump comprises a cylindrical rotor to be rotatably driven by a motor; a cylindrical stator provided corresponding to the rotor; a heater configured to elevate a temperature of the stator to a target temperature; a temperature sensor configured to detect the temperature of the stator; and a control section. A rotation start command is input after start of energization of the heater, the control section stops rotary driving of the rotor at a rated rotation speed until the temperature of the stator reaches a predetermined temperature set lower than the target temperature and begins the rotary driving at the rated rotation speed when the temperature of the stator exceeds the predetermined temperature.

摘要: A control method and apparatus for startup of turbocompressors to avoid overpowering a driver of the turbocompressor. In a first embodiment, the control system monitors input signals from transmitters of various control inputs. When the input signals exceed threshold values, the control system begins to close the antisurge valve. In a second embodiment, the antisurge valve begins to close after a predetermined time measured from the time startup is initiated. In both embodiments, the antisurge valve continues to ramp closed until the compressor has reached its operating zone, or until the compressor's operating point reaches a surge control line, at which point the antisurge valve is manipulated to keep the compressor from surging.

摘要: An arrangement for liquefying natural gas is provided. The arrangement includes a gas turbine unit that includes a gas turbine compressor, a steam turbine unit, a first compressor unit, a shiftable clutch, a heated steam generator for supplying steam to the steam turbine unit, and a second compressor unit. The steam turbine unit and the first compressor unit have a common, rigidly connected first shaft assembly, while the gas turbine unit and the second compressor unit have a common, rigidly connected second shaft assembly. In order to increase economic efficiency, the first shaft assembly and the second shaft assembly are operable to be connected to and disconnected from each other using the clutch. A suitable method for starting said arrangement is also provided.

摘要: A variable pitch fan for gas turbine engine is provided. The variable pitch fan includes a plurality of fan blades rotatably coupled to a disk and an actuation assembly for changing a pitch of each of the plurality of fan blades. The actuation assembly generally includes an actuation member operably connected to at least one of the plurality of fan blades and a pin. The pin is movable between a first position in which the pin is positioned at least partially in a channel defined in the actuation member, and a second position. The pin blocks movement of the actuation member relative to the pin past a range defined by the channel when in the first position. The actuation assembly further includes a retraction system for selectively engaging the pin in moving the pin from the first position to the second position.

摘要: A fan for a gas turbine engine is provided. The fan includes a plurality of fan blades, a disk, and a trunnion mechanism for attaching the fan blades to the disk. The disk can be formed of a plurality of individual disk segments, with the trunnion mechanism attaching one of the plurality of fan blades to a respective disk segment. A retention member is also provided. The retention member includes a means for catching a portion of the trunnion mechanism should a primary attachment system of the trunnion mechanism fail.

摘要: A method of predicting the condition of a compressor with respect to rotating stall is disclosed. The method comprises the steps of: i) comparing the difference between the largest and smallest values of a variable occurring during a time period with a difference threshold, the variable at any given time being dependent on the compressor exit pressure at that time, and ii) predicting either that the compressor is in rotating stall or that the compressor is not in rotating stall in dependence upon the result of the comparison.
