    摘要: A wing foil bearing may include one or more wing or tab foil layers. A tab foil layer may comprise a thin material with a two-dimensional array of tab shapes. A tab shape may be defined by a boundary of material separated from the thin material and having an integral edge and a free edge. Tab shapes may include one or more free-state bends relative to the thin material, forming a two-dimensional array of cantilever wings or tabs. Tab arrays may be one or more of various types or two-dimensional arrays, and a tab foil layer may include additional tab arrays and tabs. One or more tab foil layers may be engaged with a mounting surface layer and a counter-surface layer to form a wing foil bearing. Tab foil layers may be stacked and or nested, including partial nesting and complete nesting.

    摘要: A shaft clamp assembly has first, second and third members. Each member has respective first and opposite second ends, and an annular body extending between the ends. The second member has a radially outwardly extending flange at its first end, and a radially inwardly extending flange at its second end. The third member also has a radially inwardly extending flange at its second end. The first, second and third members are disposed concentrically in sequence, with a threaded portion of the first member being threadingly engaged with a corresponding threaded surface on the shaft, the second end of the first member presses against the second end flange of the second member, the first end flange of the second member presses against the first end of the third member and the second end flange of the third member presses against the object to thereby secure the object to the shaft.

    摘要: In an embodiment, a roller bearing apparatus may include a rotor having first superhard raceway elements distributed circumferentially about an axis. Each first superhard raceway element includes a raceway surface positioned/configured to form a first portion of a raceway. The apparatus includes a stator including second superhard raceway elements generally opposed to the first superhard raceway elements. Each second superhard raceway element includes a raceway surface positioned/configured to form a second portion of the raceway. The apparatus includes rolling elements interposed between the rotor and stator and positioned and configured to roll on the raceway. One or more of the rolling elements may be configured to elastically deform on the raceway during use. At least a portion of the raceway exhibits a first modulus of elasticity greater than a second modulus of elasticity of at least a portion of the one or more of the rolling elements.
