The outer peripheral surface of the sun roller is a concave curved surface of which a shape of an outer edge in an axial cross-section is a single circular arc-shaped concave curve, and an outer peripheral surface of the intermediate roller is a convex curved surface of which a shape of an outer edge in an axial cross-section is a single circular arc-shaped convex curve.

    摘要: A power transmission roller assembly includes a power transmission roller configured to be brought into contact with the driving roller and the driven roller, a pivot shaft fixed to a vehicle body, a pivot arm arranged radially inside of the power transmission roller and pivotally mounted on the pivot shaft, and a roller support bearing rotatably supporting the power transmission roller. A pair of biasing members are mounted to the pivot arm and bias the roller support bearing to a predetermined position between the driving roller and the driven roller such that the abutment force between the driving roller and the power transmission roller is balanced with the abutment force between the driven roller and the power transmission roller. Sliding members are mounted on respective shafts of the biasing members to extend through the sliding members, and frictional forces are generated between the sliding members and the respective shafts.

    摘要: This embodiment of at least two free rotating wheels (108) and (208) rotating on the periphery of each other. A free rotating wheel (108) is mounted on a rigid column (104) and base (301). The base allows a second wheel (208) mounted on a Suspension Mechanism (204) which permits the second wheel to rotate on the periphery of the first wheel. The suspension mechanism (204) is made of rigid materials, articulated and aligned to allow displacement in the vertical direction, but not in any other direction. The suspension mechanism maximizes the tangential component of the weight mass force attached to wheel (208) and spring force (288) that would entice a simultaneous rotation on both free rotating wheels. Additionally, a coupling mechanism on suspension base (204) allows for transmitting the rotational movement to a third device such as electricity generator (202) or water pump. Other embodiments are described and shown.

    摘要: A transmission system that is used in conjunction with a microturbine engine for propelling an aircraft body, such as a propeller-based fixed-wing aircraft or a rotor-based vertical lift aircraft, or for a wide variety of other applications. The output shaft of the microturbine engine preferably operates at a rotational speed in a range between 72,000 RPM and 150,000 RPM with an output power between 150 HP and 5 HP (and most preferably operates in an extended range between 50,000 RPM and 200,000 RPM with an output power between 200 HP and 5 HP). The transmission system includes a traction drive stage that provides a reduction ratio preferably having a value of at least 7, and most preferably greater than 9. The transmission system is of small-size preferably having a maximum diameter less than twelve inches. Preferably, the input stage of the transmission system is self-equilibrating such that first shaft can be supported without bearings and is operably coupled to the output shaft of the microturbine engine by an outside diameter piloted spline coupling mechanism. For vertical lift applications, a single traction stage along with a bevel gear assembly or other shaft transmission mechanism can be used to provide the necessary RPM reduction.

    摘要: A traction roller transmission comprising coaxial input and output shafts with a sun roller associated with one and a traction ring surrounding the sun roller associated with the other shaft and traction transmitting roller casters disposed in the annular space between, and in engagement with, the sun roller and the traction ring for the transmission of motion therebetween. Each roller caster includes two transmission rollers whose combined diameters are slightly larger than the gap between the sun roller and the traction ring, one of the transmission rollers being in engagement with the sun roller and the other with the traction ring such that a torque transmitted through the transmission tends to pivot the casters, which are slightly tilted, into a more upright position with respect to the sun roller and traction ring surfaces thereby forcing the transmission rollers into firm engagement with each other and with the traction ring and the sun roller. The casters have a pivotal support disposed in front of them, with respect to their direction of movement relative to the traction ring and sun roller, which both rotate in the same direction, so that the casters swing into perfect parallel alignment with the axis of the sun roller and the traction ring.
