    摘要: A cooling system includes a cooling tower, a refrigeration device, a cooling fan provided in the cooling tower, a cooling water pump which circulates cooling water between the cooling tower and the refrigeration device, a temperature sensor which detects the cooling water temperature at an inlet or outlet of the cooling tower, and an inverter apparatus which variably controls the speed of the cooling tower. The output frequency of the inverter apparatus is gradually reduced after the output frequency reaches an upper limit frequency, a condition at which a temperature detection value of the cooling water does not rise despite the reduction in the output frequency is stored, and the inverter apparatus is operated thereafter on the basis of the stored condition.

    摘要: Systems and methods for low ambient air temperature cooling in air-source based heat pump systems wherein an outdoor heat pump unit includes a discharge hood positionable over its fan. The hood including a damper that is openable and closeable as a function of outside temperature. The outdoor unit may also include wind deflectors positioned over the coil openings of the disclosure. During cooling operations below a low outside air threshold temperature, e.g., below 23° F., the damper assembly partially closes to reduce airflow across the condenser coil of the outdoor unit to a level below that which is possible at minimum fan speed. As the outdoor temperature continues to drop, the damper assembly continues to close to further reduce airflow.

    摘要: A fan control system for cooling apparatus such as cooling tower in which water and air are brought into contact together. According to this system, the running speed of the fan is continuously and proportionally changed responsive to the temperature of the cooling water or the external atmospheric conditions, to substantially control the cooling capacity of the cooling apparatus. The control system consists of a main fan motor, an electronic adjustment circuit and a power transmission means consisting of a variable pitch diameter belt speed changing means and a constant pitch belt reduction device, whereby the speed changing ratio of the belt speed chaning means is continuously and proportionally changed depending upon the control signals from the adjustment circuit. Further, the adjustment circuit may have a soft-start control circuit.

    摘要: An indirect/direct evaporative cooling system for cooling air for comfort purposes includes a single, variable speed blower positioned below an indirect evaporative cooling stage and a direct evaporative cooling stage. A first portion of the blower discharge is directed horizontally through the indirect evaporative cooling stage, where it is cooled without the addition of moisture thereto, and is then further cooled in the direct evaporative stage prior to being supplied to a building. A second portion of the blower discharge is directed vertically through the indirect evaporative cooling stage and serves to cool the first portion as the first portion travels through the indirect stage. The indirect and direct cooling stages share a common sump for collecting water drained therefrom. The indirect stage includes a drip edge to keep drain water out of the flow of the first portion. A stud-straddle supply duct is attached to the direct cooling stage to facilitate installation of the system in wood-framed walls.

    摘要: An energy conserving highly efficient hydraulically energized cooling tower fan system is provided having a rotary fan and hydraulic motor for operation thereof located at elevation within the upper portion of a cooling tower. An axial piston, variable displacement, pressure compensation hydraulic pump and its electric motor, together with a hydraulic fluid reservoir, hydraulic fluid filters and coolers arranged in closed loop assembly are located remotely from the hydraulic motor and fan assembly such as at ground level, to facilitate ease of maintenance and to minimized fire hazard and electrical hazard within the cooling tower itself. The rotational speed of the cooling tower fan is within a predetermined infinitely variable range and is controlled responsive to the temperature sensed in the cool water basin of the cooling tower by a temperature sensor and controller which controls the velocity of fluid output from the hydraulic pump. The hydraulic pump system is also equipped to reverse the characteristics of flow to the hydraulic motor to thereby reverse the operational rotation of the fan according to the temperature of water sensed within the water tower system.
