摘要: The present disclosure provides a method for operating the hydronic system, which includes monitoring, by a control unit, a volume of hot water in a hot storage tank via a first set of flowmeters and a volume of chilled water in a cold storage tank via a set of second flowmeters. A first outlet temperature of the hot water is monitored by the control unit, via a first temperature sensor and a second outlet temperature of the chilled water via a second temperature sensor. A heat pump unit is operated by control unit, for recharging the hot water and the chilled water within the hot storage tank and the cold storage tank respectively. The heat pump unit is operated when a respective predetermined limit reaches for at least one of the volume of the hot water, the volume of the chilled water, the first outlet temperature and second outlet temperature.

The on-demand heat pump water heater can have a low fluid capacity heating chamber which has an inlet and an outlet, a heat pump for heating the fluid, and a controller to control the heat pump and maintain the temperature of the fluid at a predetermined temperature. The on-demand heat pump water heater can include one or more temperature sensors, flow sensors, fluid mixing valves, or supplemental heat sources.

The on-demand water heater can have a low fluid capacity heating chamber which has an inlet and an outlet, an electric heat source for heating the water, and a controller to control the electric heat source and maintain the temperature of the water at a predetermined temperature setting. The on-demand water heater can be powered by a direct current power source. The on-demand water heater can also utilize a solar thermal system to provide additional heat to the water.

The controller interface (B12) comprises a response module configured to receive, from the hot water tank controller (B13), a first signal indicative of a temperature. The response module provides a response signal based on the first signal and a temperature response characteristic and communicates the response signal to the heat pump controller (B2). The controller interface (B12) enables interoperability of a heat pump controller (B2) and a legacy hot water tank system and hot water tank controller (B13).

摘要: A heat pump water heater has a tank, a heat source, and a heat pump system. The heat pump system has a refrigerant path, at least a portion of which is in thermal communication with the water tank volume so that heat transfers from refrigerant to the water tank volume. A fan causes air to flow through a housing, and another portion of the refrigerant path includes an evaporator in the housing. The fan is within the housing and may further be within a second housing. The first housing may comprise a baffle to direct air flow. The fan may be a variable speed fan in communication with a controller, so that the controller controls the fan speed depending on a temperature of the refrigerant.

摘要: A rotary apparatus for inputting thermal energy into fluidic medium is provided, the apparatus comprises: a casing with at least one inlet and at least one outlet; a rotor comprising at least one row of rotor blades configured as impulse impeller blades arranged over a circumference of a rotor hub mounted onto a rotor shaft; at least one row of stationary nozzle guide vanes arranged upstream of the at least one row of the rotor blades, respectively; and at least one row of stationary diffuser vanes arranged downstream of the at least one row of the rotor blades, respectively. The apparatus is configured to impart an amount of thermal energy to a stream of fluidic medium directed along a flow path formed inside the casing between the inlet and the outlet by virtue of a series of energy transformations occurring when said stream of fluidic medium successively passes through the blade/vane rows formed by the nozzle guide vanes, the rotor blades and the diffuser vanes, respectively, wherein, in said apparatus, a space formed between an exit from the at least one row of diffuser vanes and an entrance to the at least one row of nozzle guide vanes in a direction of the flow path formed inside the casing between the inlet and the outlet is made variable to regulate the amount of thermal energy input to the stream of fluidic medium propagating through the apparatus. Related uses and a method for inputting thermal energy into a fluidic medium are further provided.
