    摘要: The present invention provides novel antigens of an allergy to egg, methods and kits for diagnosing an allergy to egg, pharmaceutical compositions comprising such an antigen, eggs or processed products of egg in which such an antigen is eliminated or reduced, birds that deliver such eggs or are born from such eggs, a method for producing processed products of egg in which such an antigen is eliminated or reduced, and a tester for determining the presence or absence of an egg antigen in an object of interest.     摘要: The vitelline membrane of an egg is a novel, inexpensive and useful model of the human blood brain barrier (BBB). FD&C Blue #1, FD&C Red #40, FD&C Red #3, quinine and fluorescein do not cross the vitelline membrane and do not cross the human BBB. Ethanol, diethyl ether, 2-chloroprocaine and acetaminophen, cross the vitelline membrane and are known to cross the human BBB. Using the vitelline membrane, as model of the human BBB, may decrease the time and cost of discovering lead drugs for the treatment of central nervous system diseases.

    摘要: The invention is a herd management schema based upon the inventor's analysis of the natural history of bovine infection due to Mycobacterium avium subspecies paratuberculosis (Map) and related genomic variants and upon the ability of two distinct Map ELISA tests to sequentially or in parallel determine prior and current Map infection and evidence of active mycobacterium replication. Interpretation of the test results are integrated into sequential directives designed to enhance productive retention of infected animals as well as identify animals not previously infected. The sequential utilization of the data guidelines is developed to minimize the adverse economic impact of these infections.
