The secured cable system includes a cable security system having a first security tape including a tape portion upon which a plurality of detection lines are arranged. The security system may also include a detection box in electrical or optical communication with each of the detection lines in the first security tape. In one embodiment, the security tape is spiral wrapped about the inner cable in a first direction along a length of the inner cable, the security tape being overlapped upon itself at a predetermined overlap factor. The secured cable system may also include a second security tape including a tape portion upon which a plurality of detection lines are arranged in a pattern wherein the second security tape is wrapped about the first security tape in a second direction opposite the first direction.

    摘要: The invention consists of a secure data transmission cable for electronically transmitting secure data between remote locations in an exposed condition. The data transmission cable comprises a tubular outer protective layer, an inner core disposed within the outer protective layer, a data transmission line carried within the inner core for transmitting secure data between the remote locations, and a fiber optic sensor line included in the outer protective layer for detecting unauthorized activity relative to the transmission line. The fiber optic data transmission line comprises a plurality of optical fibers for transmitting data between remote locations and for detecting unauthorized activity relative to the transmission line. A protective casing surrounds the data transmission line for protecting the fiber optic data transmission line from contacting the outer protective layer. An outer protective casing braided around the core in which the sensor line is enclosed provides strength to the cable.

    摘要: A sensor for a security system is disclosed to detect intrusions at one or more predetermined locations wherein each location includes a moveable member which must be moved in order to intrude the location. The system includes a fiber network routed in close proximity to one or more locations. The sensor comprises a sensor housing for being disposed at a location to detect a predetermined movement of the moveable member from a secure position to an unsecured position, and means for mounting the sensor housing in a stationary position at the location without a physical connection to the moveable member. The sensor housing includes a fiber inlet and a fiber outlet, and a fiber chamber for receiving a predetermined sensor fiber of the fiber network being routed through the sensor housing. The sensor has a sensor actuator for engaging the sensor fiber to generate an intrusion signal upon detecting predetermined movement of the moveable member causing the intrusion signal to be transmitted along the sensor fiber to a processor whereby the intrusion and location of the intrusion may be determined by the processor. Preferably, the sensor includes a magnetic actuator having a magnetic attraction to the moveable members whose interruption causes activation of the sensor and generation of the intrusion signal, and a signal shaping device acts to produce a signal having a prescribed minimum pulse width to assure detection no matter how quickly the senor actuator returns to a deactivated position.

    摘要: A method and system of intrusion detection system for a multimode fiber optic cable. A light signal is launched into the cable fiber to establish a narrow spectral width, under-filled non-uniform mode field power distribution in the cable. A small portion of the higher order signal modes arriving at the remote end of the cable is sampled and monitored for transient changes in the mode field power distribution. The power distribution changes with physical disturbance of the cable. When those changes are detected as being characteristic of fiber intrusion, the system activates an alarm. This method can sense and alarm any attempt to access the optical fibers in a fiber optic communication cable. In preferred embodiments, the active signal of a multimode optical fiber is monitored for both signal degradation and transient power disturbance patterns that could indicate fiber damage or physical intrusion. A translator can be provided in an existing optical fiber system in which the data signals are translated in wavelength and/or launch conditions to optimize the monitoring signals in an otherwise non-optimized system.
