Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method and a system for controlling a process of a process plant. Hie system is configured to control a process in the process plant by recommending control operations and perform the control operations. The system obtains the control operations and detects availability of control room operators using historical data related to actions performed by the control room operators, sensory parameters of the control room operators and a status associated with the process. The system provides queries related to the control operations, the plant parameters, status of the process to the control room operators upon detecting the availability. Hie queries are validated by the control room operators. The system thereafter autonomously controls tire control room based on the validated data.
Abstract:
A field programmable gate array (FPGA) in a machine health monitoring (MHM) module includes interface circuitry, vibration data processing circuitry, and tachometer data processing circuitry. The interface circuitry de-multiplexes a synchronous serial data stream comprising multiple multiplexed data channels, each containing machine vibration data or tachometer data, into separate input data streams. The vibration data processing circuitry comprises parallel processing channels for the separate input data streams containing vibration data, each channel including a highpass filter, two stages of integration circuits, a digital tracking bandpass filter, and multiple parallel scalar calculation channels. The tachometer data processing circuitry processes the tachometer data to generate RPM and other values. A cross-point switch in the FPGA distributes tachometer signals between MHM modules in a distributed control system, thereby allowing multiple modules to share tachometer information.
Abstract:
A fault tolerant control system delivers an embedded functional safety core and a distributed control engine with an onboard communication link in an industrial process control environment. The fault tolerant control system includes a process control workstation connected to a first network and a fault tolerant safety controller connected to a second network, wherein a process controller module, a safety controller module and a field device system integration module are co-located on a power interface board.
Abstract:
High availability and data migration in a distributed process control computing environment. Allocation algorithms distribute data and applications among available compute nodes, such as controllers in a process control system. In the process control system, an input/output device, such as a fieldbus module, can be used by any controller. Databases store critical execution information for immediate takeover by a backup compute element. The compute nodes are configured to execute algorithms for mitigating dead time in the distributed computing environment.
Abstract:
An automation and motion control system for theatrical objects, such as theatrical props, cameras, stunt persons, lighting, scenery, drapery or other similar types of devices or items, is provided to coordinate the movement of the objects on a large scale and/or to control the operation of the objects.
Abstract:
An automotive internal combustion engine electronic control unit for performing safety-related functions with a predetermined automotive safety integrity level, including: a microcontroller and an integrated circuit distinct from and communicating with the microcontroller. The microcontroller performs one or more safety-related functions with the same automotive safety integrity level as required to the automotive engine electronic control unit. The integrated circuit performs one or more safety-related functions with an automotive safety integrity level that is lower than that of the microcontroller. The integrated circuit performs, for each performed safety-related function, a corresponding diagnosis function for detecting failures in the performance of the safety-related function. The microcontroller performs, for each performed diagnosis function, a corresponding monitoring function for monitoring performance of the corresponding diagnosis function by the integrated circuit to detect failures that may compromise the diagnostic capability of the diagnosis function.
Abstract:
A multi-generation distributed control system includes a first generation (FG) DCS connected to a local control network (LCN) including FG client nodes. A second generation (SG) DCS connected to a non-LCN data highway includes a server node connected between the LCN and the non-LCN data highway and SG client nodes. The server node includes a LCN processor (LCNP) board. LCNP emulator software including a server LCNP emulator software component is at the server node and a client LCNP emulator software component at the SG client nodes. The server LCNP emulator software component translates between LCN data and data highway protocol data and adds one of a plurality of LCN address slots to communications received from the LCN for delivery to the SG DCS that each correspond to a SG client node. Each client LCNP emulator software component provides one of the LCN address slots at its SG client node.
Abstract:
A control node has a sequence table and subscribers, with the sequence table having data records each having an identification for an action of a manufacturing sequence associated with the control node, an identification for a subscriber carrying out the action and an identification of a parameter set associated with the action, and wherein each subscriber has a sequence interpreter which is designed to read and to interpret the sequence table, and to initiate the actions associated with the subscriber.
