    摘要: Herein is disclosed a method and apparatus for detecting a magnetic field stored upon magnetically-enclosable material with a semiconductor/metal read head. A region of the magnetically-encodable material is brought in proximity to a semiconductor mass with at least one conductive region embedded therein. An electrical current is directed through the semiconductor mass, flowing in a direction approximately parallel to the magnetically-encodable material. The semiconductor mass is magnetically biased. The biasing magnetic field is approximately perpendicular to the magnetically-encodable material. Finally, a change in resistance to current flowing through the semiconductor mass is detected. The change in resistance indicates magnitude and direction of the magnetic field stored upon the magnetically-encodable material.

    摘要: A multichannel magnetic head has magnetic circuits for respective channels, each positioned to traverse a magnetic flux to be detected and a Hall element disposed in the magnetic circuits and used as a magnetic-electric converter. The Hall element is an amorphous magnetic thin film which consists essentially of an alloy containing a rare earth element (e.g. Gd) and a transistion metal (e.g. Co). To the amorphous magnetic thin film there are connected a pair of current terminals and Hall voltage terminals. The Hall voltage terminals are provided in the same number as the number of channels.

    摘要: When a pinned magnetic layer includes an underlayer and a Heusler alloy layer, a product ΔR×A of the amount of change in resistance and an element surface area of a magnetic sensor per unit area is increased. That is, a magnetic field detection sensitivity of the magnetic sensor can be improved. It is believed that the magnetic field detection sensitivity of the magnetic sensor is improved by the present invention because a misfit percentage between the underlayer and the Heusler alloy layer is small, and therefore the crystallinity or the periodicity of the Heusler alloy layer is improved.

    摘要: A magnetic head for reading out the state of magnetization recorded on a magnetic recording medium, in which the magnetic head comprises a substrate of insulating material, an amorphous magnetic thin film, a pair of current terminals, and a pair of voltage terminals. The amorphous magnetic thin film is deposited on the substrate so as to have a width smaller than respective unit areas of magnetic records on a magnetic recording medium to be separately read out therefrom and to have an easy axis of magnetization in a direction perpendicular to the film surface. The current terminals are formed on the substrate for flowing a current in the amorphous magnetic thin film in the lengthwise direction thereof. The voltage terminals are formed on the substrate for deriving from the amorphous magnetic thin film a voltage induced in the transverse direction thereof.
