    摘要: A method for controllably disconnecting a utility power service from a load includes a step of receiving a disconnect command at a control circuit within a utility meter housing. Then, responsive to receiving the disconnect command, using the control circuit to provide a first signal to a first switch operably connecting a charging circuit to an energy storage device. The method also includes charging, at least in part, the energy storage device via the charging circuit. After charging the energy storage device at least in part, a second signal is provided to a second switch that operably connects the energy storage device to the electrically powered source of motive force such that the electrically-powered source of motive force causes a service switch to controllably interrupt the connection between a utility power service and a load.

    摘要: A system for protection, control, metering, and monitoring of the delivery of electrical power is disclosed. Embodiments of the system provide input/output devices called bricks to receive analog and binary field data from primary equipment located in a power substation switchyard. The bricks are linked via fiber-optic patch cables and patch panels with one or more intelligent electronic devices (“IEDs”). In operation, the bricks convert the received binary and/or analog field data into digital signals, and transmit the digital signals synchronously to their associated IEDs using clock signals provided by each IED to the individual bricks. The bricks may accept a computer software code download from each of its master IED(s). Multiple code implementations, each tailored to the requirements of its master IED(s) can therefore co-exist on a single brick.

    摘要: An Electric Power Line Monitoring System in which a single line measuring system station can measure all of the power parameters of both voltage and phase angle plus ambient and line temperatures. The measuring station can be secured to the power line without the need for shutting down the line. The measured data is transmitted from the measuring station on the power line to a ground receiving and data processing station. The system measures true RMS voltage and current values, RMS phase angle along with ambient and line temperatures which are digitized and transmitted through a digital fiber optic data link. The fiber optic data transmission line can be a flexible fiber optic cable assembly or a rigid fiber optic bushing assembly for supporting a long phase conductor that also contains a long resistive link of a voltage sensor voltage divider. The resistive link is constructed of materials that have a high precision resistance tolerance and low temperature coefficients of resistance that improved the accuracy of the voltage sensor.
