The functional connection unit includes a plurality of functional module terminals configured to connect to the functional modules and to communicate according to a first communication protocol, and a parameter memory that includes parameter data for device specific parameterization of at least one functional module. The parameter memory is configured to connect to a functional module terminal of the plurality of functional module terminals. The function connection unit is configured to read the parameter data from the parameter memory. The function connection unit is also configured to parameterize at least one functional module in a device-specific fashion based at least in part on the read parameter data.

    摘要: In some embodiments, an apparatus includes a first Fiber Channel (FC) switch configured to be operatively coupled to an FC network device and a second FC switch. The first FC switch is configured to receive, from the FC network device, a first control packet. The first FC switch is further configured to send to the second FC switch, based on the first control packet, a second control packet defined based on a decentralized control plane protocol. The second control packet includes information associated with an FC route that is associated with the FC network device such that the second FC switch can route FC data packets to the FC network device using an FC data plane protocol.

    摘要: A master device, daisy-chained devices, and a method for configuring the daisy-chained devices are provided. The master device generates a signal having a pre-determined base frequency, and outputs the signal generated to a first device in the daisy chain communication configuration. Each daisy-chained device receives an input signal, having an input frequency, from a previous daisy-chained device. Each daisy-chained device generates an output signal having an output frequency different to and based on the input frequency of the received signal, and outputs the output signal to a following daisy-chained device. Each daisy-chained device further determines an address of a communication interface, for exchanging data with the master device, based on the input frequency of the received signal. For example, the output frequency of the output signal is half the input frequency of the received signal.
