    摘要: A method for hydrodynamic cleaning of a piping system using two-phase flow. A model for predicting peak wall shear stress for two-phase flow is used to determine an optimum flow rate ratio which achieves a maximum wall shear stress in the particular piping system to be cleaned. The optimum flow rate is first established by turning on the liquid and gas flows through the piping system to be cleaned and allowing the flow to reach steady state conditions. The back pressure of the system is measured and the optimization model is used to determine the optimum flow rate ratio. Once the optimum flow rate ratio has been calculated, the liquid flow rate and the gas flow rates can be adjusted such that the optimum ratio is achieved. The two-phase back pressure is then measured to verify that the optimum flow rate ratio has been used. This is done by comparing the measured optimum two-phase flow back pressure with the initial two-phase back pressure used in the equations. If there is a variance between the two back pressures then the measured back pressure is substituted into the equations for the initial back pressure and the optimum flow rate ratio is recalculated. This step is repeated until the measured back pressure is equal to the back pressure used in the calculations. Cleaning is then performed at that optimum flow rate ratio.

    摘要: A gas cabinet manifold is free of dead-legs both during delivery of process gas to a semiconductor fabrication tool location and during purging of the manifold. The manifold includes three similar dual valve assembly blocks. Each valve assembly block includes two valves and each of the valves has a valve chamber in which are formed three ports. Each valve also includes a mechanism for selectively closing one of its three ports. Each of the valves has one of its non-closeable ports connected via a conduit to a corresponding non-closeable port of the other valve, and the other non-closeable ports are connected by a second conduit which is connected by a third conduit to a port by which gas may be introduced into the valve block. A vacuum venturi or other vacuum source is used to vent process gas from a high pressure area of the manifold by way of a pressure regulator and a low pressure area of the manifold. A valve block similar to those described above, but with manually actuated valves, is used in a purge gas manifold that is installed in association with the gas cabinet manifold.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for dissipating surcharge waste material clogging manholes includes a sewage surcharge dissipation head. The sewage surcharge dissipation head is connected through a high pressure hose to a source of high pressure water. The sewage surcharge dissipation head is lowered into a clogged manhole, and high pressure water is pumped through the high pressure hose to the sewage surcharge dissipation head. The high pressure water exits the sewage surcharge dissipation head through multiple water jet nozzles positioned around the circumference of the head and set at 35 degrees to the longitudinal axis of the head. The resultant water jet streams cut through, stir and dilute the surcharge clogging the manhole. The sewage surcharge dissipation head includes a means for connecting a pole to control the position and motion of the sewage surcharge dissipation head. An alternative embodiment of the invention also includes a length of pipe connecting the sewage surcharge dissipation head to the high pressure hose to provide additional stability and control of the sewage surcharge dissipation head.

    摘要: A method of cleaning and maintaining water distribution systems which have reduced flow due to an increase of water scale deposits, sediment, and the like on the inside surface of the pipe is disclosed. An aqueous acidic cleaning solution is introduced and circulated through the pipe to be treated for a sufficient time to dissolve and loosen the scale and sediment, and the spent solution containing dissolved or suspended scale and sediment is flushed from the pipe to provide a cleaned pipe with improved water flow. It is also desirable to flush the water distribution pipe system with high pressure water after the treatment to remove loosened scale and sediment that was not removed during the circulation and flushing of the treating solution.

    摘要: A cleaning system is provided for an air conditioner or heater of the type having an air duct for conveying air with a fin-type heat exchanger transversely mounted in the air duct for heat exchange with the air conveyed in the duct. The cleaning system comprises a pair of tubes mounted horizontally across the air duct on opposite sides of and parallel to the heat exchanger adjacent the upper end of the sides of the heat exchanger. The pair of tubes each have a plurality of longitudinal slots therein for fan-shaped spraying of cleaning liquid from each of the slotted holes toward the heat exchanger. A cart with a tank of cleaning liquid can be rolled to a location adjacent the air duct. The cart has a pump for pumping liquid from the tank to the tubes and a hose for quick connection to either of the tubes.
