    摘要: A press system for knocking out a work from a lower die attached to a press machine has a cam 22 mounted on a bed of the press machine; a servo motor 21 which drives the cam to be rotated with the same cycle time as that of a drive mechanism of a slide of the press machine; a knockout pin 23 moved with reciprocal linear motion by the rotation of the cam; a detector 25 configured to detect a present angle information 24 of the cam, a memory storing a target angle information of the cam, and a controller 28 configured to control the servo motor in accordance with the present angle information and the target angle information. The controller is further configured to change a basic motion of the knockout pin according to contour of the cam to a target motion obtained from the target angle information.

    摘要: The disclosed and claimed compresses gas system provides for the use of a rotary valve assembly in association with a cupper. A compressed gas system that utilizes a rotary valve assembly uses less gas than a constant flow compressed gas system and is quieter than a compressed gas system that uses valves. The rotary valve is a disk-like body having an opening therethrough. The rotary valve body is disposed within a housing assembly wherein gas may only flow through the housing when the rotary valve body is properly aligned with a space on one side of the rotary valve body.

    摘要: A method of ejecting an elongate blank (57) from a through bore in a die (58) in which one end of the blank (57) has been formed with a head by a tool. Ejector rods (60, 62) are successively moved into the die (58) against the other end of the blank. A first ejector rod (60), short with respect to the length of the die (58), moves the blank (57) a relatively short distance, and then the blank (57) is completely ejected using ejector rod (62) having substantially the same length as the die (58). A control unit (63) is placed in facing relation to the formed head of the elongate blank at a predetermined distance from the formed head. The control unit determines whether the formed head conforms to a predetermined geometrical condition thereof, specifically by forming the control unit with a slot detector (64) having the same shape as a slot formed in the head. After the first ejector rod displaces the formed head towards the control unit, the geometrical condition of the slot is determined by the slot detector (64). Thereafter the blank is displaced from the die by the second ejector rod.

    摘要: A drawing installation for a press which must produce the holding force during the drawing operation. The drawing ram displaces the sheet metal part and the sheet metal holder against the holding force and additionally must overcome at the beginning of the sheet metal deformation the inertia forces of the accelerated parts of the drawing installation. In order to avoid the forces which occur thereby in an impact-like manner, the piston rods transmitting the holding force and the ejector piston rods are pre-accelerated prior to the drawing ram. The piston rods each include an operating surface adapted to be acted upon in the drawing direction. The pressure spaces coordinated thereto are connected with a pressure quantity space each of a pre-acceleration cylinder and by way of a refill control with a pressure source. The control of the pre-acceleration cylinder and of the refill from the pressure source takes place in dependence on the movement of the drawing ram. The drawing installation can be used in presses with mechanically driven drawing rams and sheet metal holders retaining the sheet metal part whereby the functions of holding and ejection are carried out by separate pressure cylinders.

    摘要: A cam actuated ejector is provided with a shell press having a crankshaft for reciprocating a slide to which die tooling is mounted and having a forming station in which the die tooling forms a part to be ejected. The ejector includes a kicker bar slidably received within a recess in the press and which is in close proximity to and substantially coplanar with a part to be ejected. The kicker bar is positively reciprocated by a cam assembly that is synchronously engaged with the crankshaft, which operates the press slide, such that an end of the kicker bar cyclically moves at a first rate of movement from a first position outside the forming station to an intermediate position wherein the end contacts a part to be ejected. The cam assembly continues to advance the kicker bar at a second rate of movement greater than the first rate from the intermediate position to a second position to eject the part and thereafter the cam assembly rapidly withdraws the kicker bar end from the second position to the first position to clear the die area and to ready it for subsequent cyclic ejection of other formed parts. The different timed rates of movement of the kicker bar are provided by selectively contouring the cam surfaces within the cam assembly to contact the part at an optimum speed and to provide positive drive to the kicker bar throughout its cyclic movements.

    摘要: A stroke enlarging mechanism comprises a stationary rack, a saddle member driven by an actuator relative to the stationary rack, an operating arm movable relative to the saddle member, and a movable rack secured to the operating arm. A first pinion and a second pinion are rotatably mounted in the saddle member to be engageable with the stationary rack and the movable rack, respectively. A coupling device couples the two pinions with each other. Upon driving the saddle member relative to the stationary rack, the two pinions are rotated thus displacing the operating arm for a distance larger than the driving stroke of the saddle member.

    摘要: Apparatus and method for discharging flanged cups in a controlled oriented fashion from a blanking and forming press. The formed cup is raised to a position slightly higher than the upper face of the drawing die, and moved in a straight line by means of a high pressure air pulse to the inlet of a conduit-like discharge chute. The formed cups are moved through the discharge chute by air pressure issuing from angled slots in the walls of the chute. The invention is particularly advantageous for use with blanking and forming presses simultaneously producing a plurality of formed cups in order to discharge the formed cups separately from each station in an orientation substantially the same as that in which the cup was formed. The invention eliminates damage to the formed cup caused by random bulk handling in conventional discharge equipment.
