    摘要: A method and a device for producing an internally or externally toothed cup-shaped sheet material component with teeth that run in parallel to the center axis of the cup, especially of a clutch plate carrier. The method and device allow the production of profile rollers, the rollers controlling the true running, dimensional accuracy and the surface of the cup-shaped sheet material component having an internally and externally profiled wall in the shape of teeth, in such a manner that they guarantee a specifically variable position during production. The method is characterized in that an untoothed cup-shaped sheet material component is slid onto a pick-up mandrel which has an external toothing corresponding to the internal toothing of the sheet material component to be produced and the external profile is then rolled onto the cup-shaped sheet material component by pressing the cup-shaped sheet material component together with the pick-up mandrel by means of a set of profile rollers rolling off in parallel to the center axis on the sheet material component while exerting a radial pressure. This results in pressing the material into the grooves of the pick-up mandrel, and a displacement of every profile roller of the set of profile rollers toward the pick-up mandrel taking place in the region of the open end of the cup-shaped sheet material component to be formed. This process thereby forms the desired profile of the internally and externally toothed region at the open end of the sheet material component due to a pressure relief, and removal of the sheet material component so treated.

The press forming device includes a lower die holder adapted to be mounted on a lower base of a press machine, and a die fixed on the lower die holder. The die has a plurality of inside forming parts on a circumferential surface of the die, each for forming one of the projections, respectively. The press forming device further includes a plurality of punches mounted on the lower die holder around an outer circumference of the die, each being arranged to be capable of being moved towards or away from the die, and each having an outside forming part in a position facing one of the inside forming parts for forming one of the projections, respectively. The press forming device also includes an upper die holder adapted to be mounted on an upper raising and lowering base of the press machine and a plurality of pressing members of wedge shape mounted on the upper die holder. Each of the pressing members is mounted at a position above one of the punches for moving one of the punches in a direction towards the die with lowering the raising and lowering base, to thereby press the tubular article between one of the inside forming parts of the die and one of the outside forming parts of the punches, respectively.

    摘要: Thin-walled metal duct particularly useful for heating and air-conditioning purposes is usually made by grooving, spiral wrapping, and seaming strips of thin metal sheet. The resultant tubular form provides the necessary rigidity to resist collapse of the tubular form. In the past, at least one end of the ribbed tubular ducts have been reformed to permit the ducts to be joined together. The end reforming techniques of the past have resulted in reformed ends having insufficient rigidity and strength to resist the abuse the ducts frequently receive in shipping, storing, handling, and installation.The present product, method, and apparatus provide a ribbed thin-walled tubular duct having reformed ends with rigidity and strength superior to the prior art products. This achievement is accomplished in the present invention by moving more metal into the end portion of the duct prior to reforming the end portion, thus reinforcing the end portion of the duct.

    摘要: A pipe grooving device includes an assembly adapted to receive an end of the pipe. The assembly includes a cup which surrounds a pipe end stop. The cup and the pipe end stop may be mounted on a fixed pinion about which a carriage rotates. The carriage carries geared cams which engage the pinion and rotate synchronously when the carriage rotates relatively the pinion. The cams engage a pipe element received by the cup and form a circumferential groove in the pipe element. The cup and the pipe end stop move independently of one another axially along a pinion shaft to actuate rotation of the carriage. The cup accommodates dimensional pipe diameter tolerances and mitigates pipe flare and maintains pipe roundness during the grooving process.
