Abstract:
A cutting element for a drill bit used in drilling subterranean formations is formed with an internal chamber or passage for the flow of drilling fluid therethrough. A substrate having at least one internal passage, and prior to attaching the table thereto, the at least one passage is filled with a removable substantially incompressible filler material. Attachment or bonding of the table to the substrate under high temperature and high pressure is accomplished without significant distortion of the shape and size of the passage. The filler material may be a crystalline salt such as sodium chloride or halite, which are removable by dissolution in water, or may be boron nitride or a volcanic material such as Pyrofolyte material which are mechanically removable.
Abstract:
Saw blades and methods of manufacturing saw blades. An exemplary method includes the acts of providing blade stock having a first surface and a second surface, forming a first pattern on the first surface, such as a cross-hatch pattern, forming a second pattern on the second surface, forming a first saw blade from the blade stock, the first saw blade having a first blade first surface including a first portion of the first pattern, and a first blade second surface including a first portion of the second pattern, forming a second saw blade from the blade stock, the second saw blade having a second blade first surface including a second portion of the first pattern and a second blade second surface having a second portion of the second pattern, positioning the first saw blade and the second saw blade in a position such that the first blade's first surface is adjacent one of the second blade first surface, and the second blade second surface, heat-treating the first saw blade and the second saw blade in the position, and removing from the position, after the heat-treating act, the first saw blade and the second saw blade.
Abstract:
A stamping punch of a punching apparatus including a grip member provided with crosspieces formed between long grooves on side walls of a rectangular parallelepiped, and a plurality of punch members which are formed integrally with the grip member. The respective punch members are arranged in parallel to one another. A plurality of holes are defined on a punch holder. A large amount of adhesive is contained in the gap between joining surfaces when the grip members of the stamping punches are inserted and secured into the respective holes. Accordingly, the positional accuracy of the punch member is improved, the accuracy of the hole defined through a workpiece is improved, and it is possible to eliminate any fear of occurrence of defect in shape. Further, the rigidity of the punch member can be improved, the stripper is prevented from application of unbalanced load, and the punch is easily exchangeable.
Abstract:
A heat sink 28 is provided for removing heat from a component 30 on a circuit board 22. The heat sink 28 includes a base 12 having a top 14, a bottom 16, and opposing sides 18 and 20. The top is generally planar for being adhered to a circuit board. Each of the opposing sides has a cutout defining a stepped shoulder 26. The heat sink also includes a plurality of fins 24 extending from the bottom of the base. Locating structure 50 is provided on the top of the heat sink for locating the heat sink with respect to the circuit board 22. Since the heat sink can be glued to the circuit board, a common heat sink can be used for any power electronics component.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for providing an improved two-piece punch construction. The two-piece punch construction includes a supporting member and a punch body. The supporting member includes an aperture in which the punch body is accurately located. The supporting member further includes a supporting surface for supporting the punch body during a punching operation. The punch is constructed by providing at least one through-hole in the supporting member which receives a WEDM wire. The aperture for locating the punch body in the supporting member is made with a WEDM process. The supporting member and punch body are secured together by brazing material.
Abstract:
A method for producing longitudinally welded helically corrugated metal tubing, wherein a metal strip pulled from a strip supply is formed into tubing with a longitudinal slit, the longitudinal slit is sealed by welding and the corrugation is produced by a corrugation tool that is supported eccentrically and at an angle to the tubing axis, is freely rotatable in a rotationally driven corrugator head, and rolls off the surface of the tubing. The metal strip as well as the uncorrugated metal tubing are advanced by a feed device that is provided between the welding point and the corrugation unit. A second feed device (8) engages the corrugated tubing (7) directly behind the corrugation unit (6), and the feed rate of the second feed device is slower than the forward feed rate of the corrugated tubing (7) which results from the pitch of the corrugator disk and the rotational speed of the corrugator head.
Abstract:
Disclosed an integrated refrigerator evaporator having a plurality of pipes and fins which is manufactured by injection molding with plastics. According to the present invention, pipes and fins are molded by means of at least one plastic plates, and a heat exchanger is formed by molding the pipes and fins in a series of nullSnull shape. A first bending section formed by the heat exchanger, which is molded in a series of nullSnull shape, is inserted into a mold main body to manufacture a header cap. A first header cap is manufactured by injecting melted plastic material body into the mold main body under the state of covering a mold cap. The first header cap is engaged with a first header main body comprising the first header cap and the refrigerant inlet and outlet. The refrigerator evaporator according to the present invention results in a relatively lower product cost than the evaporator composed of a metal substance as well as a high recyclability.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a diamond tipped indenting tool for marking the surface of metal parts. The indenting tool comprises a shank having a tip end and a diamond affixed to the tip end by a braze material. The braze material preferably comprises a braze alloy which wets both the diamond and the material forming the shank. The diamond forms the point of the tool and is preferably a high quality single crystal diamond.
Abstract:
A method for making magnetic handles includes step 1 of mixing magnetic powders into plastic material; step 2 of plastic injecting the mixture of the magnetic powders and the plastic material into a handle; step 3 of magnetizing the handle by being connected with electric poles, and step 4 of final fishing the handle.
Abstract:
A method for manufacturing a cutter mold for use on a cutting machine to cut articles includes the steps of: preparing a metal plate, coating a printing ink layer on the surface of the metal plate to form a printing ink area and a non-printing ink layer, drying the printing ink layer on the metal plate, submerging the metal plate in an etching agent to etch the non-printing ink layer to form a cutter with a tapered top end, and finally grinding the tapered top end of the cutter to form an edge to complete the cutter mold.
