    摘要: A ball valve is produced, which has a valve housing 10 and a ball 20. A pair of mirror-symmetrical housing halves 12, 14 are jointed together along a single weld line. The housing halves are jointed together by welding in a manner to enclose the ball previously provided with a through bore and a pair of recessed portions. The through bore 22 of the ball is arranged to be in conformity with the weld line. Holes 42, 50 for respectively mounting a pair of stem assemblies are formed by machining respectively in those portions of the valve housing opposed respectively to open opposite ends of the through bore. The centers of the holes are in alignment with the operational centerline of the ball valve. The ball is turned by an angle of 90 degrees, thereby bringing the through bore of the ball into alignment with openings 12A, 14A of the valve housing, and the recessed portions 26, 28 of the ball are brought into alignment with the holes, respectively. Next, the pair of stem assemblies 60, 68 are attached to the both holes, respectively, and stems are fitted in the both recessed portions, respectively, and the pair of stems are welded circumferentially to peripheral edge portions of the holes, respectively.

    摘要: A valve stem installation system includes a robotic arm for moving a valve stem insertion device around the lip of wheel. The system also includes a pair of valve stem aperture sensors positioned on the robotic arm adjacent the valve stem insertion device and moveable around the lip of the wheel. The sensors can be positioned on opposite sides of the valve stem insertion device. When the first sensor locates the valve stem aperture, movement of the robotic arm can be slowed. When the second sensor locates the valve stem aperture, movement of the robotic arm can be stopped. The conveyor unit can include an identification station to sense the configuration of the wheel. A controller can select the appropriate valve stem to insert in the valve stem aperture in response to the sensed configuration of the wheel.

A method of preparing a coil spring for use in a pressure relief valve comprises measuring the spring rate of the coil spring and; modifying the spring so as to modify its spring rate to be within null2% of a desired spring rate.

A second feed device (8) engages the corrugated tubing (7) directly behind the corrugation unit (6), and the feed rate of the second feed device is slower than the forward feed rate of the corrugated tubing (7) which results from the pitch of the corrugator disk and the rotational speed of the corrugator head.

The valve integrally associated with a microfluidic liquid transport assembly, includes: a first rigid layer having substantially planar and opposing first and second surfaces; a second rigid layer having substantially planar and opposing third and fourth surfaces, the third surface of the second rigid layer being substantially coplanar and integrally bonded to the second surface of the first rigid layer; a first passageway defined by a groove, the groove being along the second surface of the first rigid layer and bounded by the third surface of the second rigid layer, the first passageway being adapted to flow a liquid sample therethrough, a valve seat having a substantially planar plateau surface, the valve seat being within the passageway and integrally connected to the first rigid layer such that the plateau surface is substantially planar to and interposed between the first and second surfaces of the first rigid layer; and a flexible membrane opposite the valve seat and integrally associated with a first membrane through hole of the second rigid layer, the flexible membrane having a passageway surface that is either (i) substantially coplanar to the second surface of the first rigid layer when the valve is in an open position, or (ii) bulged with a central portion thereof being substantially coplanar to the plateau surface of the valve seat when the valve is in a closed position.     摘要: A valve stem seal assembly includes a retainer with one or more built-in sprues, a cavity at one end, an annular flange on the opposite end, and a cylindrical interior passageway therebetween. The built-in sprues extend from the bottom surface of the cavity to the annular flange. The valve stem seal assembly also includes a jacket made of an elastomeric material integrally bonded to the retainer. When the valve stem seal assembly is fitted atop the valve guide, a gap is formed between the bottom surface of the cavity of the retainer and the top surface of the valve guide to accommodate manufacturing tolerances in the height of the valve guide. The jacket is integrally bonded to the retainer by introducing material into the cavity, through the built-in sprues, and out of the bottom of the annular flange. One preferred method of manufacturing the valve stem seal assembly provides placing the retainer atop a tool plate that contains a circumferential groove, positioning the retainer to properly receive an elastomeric material, pouring the elastomeric material through the built-in sprues forming the jacket and curing the elastomeric material until the jacket is bonded with the retainer. The sub-assembly may be tested for coaxiality of the valve seat and guide disk or may be otherwise qualified as desired prior to insertion into the fuel injector valve body.
