Abstract:
Generation of cavitation jet in air on a surface of a work roll provides a higher cleaning force than squirting of only high pressure fluid, so that sticking substances on the surface of the work roll are reliably removable. When a distance between a cleaning nozzle and the surface of the work roll and pressure of the high pressure fluid are controlled within a predetermined range, sticking substances are efficiently removable while roughness of the surface of the work roll is maintained.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method of cleaning or descaling thin slabs and rolled strips in a hot strip rolling mill train and is characterized by use of cryogens such as oxygen or compound formed of cryogens with a carrier medium such as compressed air which are sprayed into slab surface or strip surface in liquid, deep-freeze form. The invention also relates to a method of cleaning and/or descaling of strips in a strip treatment installation with the above-mentioned characterized features, and to a correspondingly equipped apparatus.
Abstract:
A new configuration and operating method therefore improves conventional continuous pickling and cold-rolling systems in response to increasing demands for high-propertied steel plates. The continuous pickling and cold-rolling equipment system comprises a uncoiling apparatus, a joining apparatus, an accumulating looper, a cleaning section, a pickling section, a cold rolling mill, a cutting apparatus, and a coiling apparatus. This configuration and associated operation method realize a rolling line having a substantially infinite number of mill stands enabling continuous or endless cold rolling without additional mill stands. Thereby, production of cold rolled steel strip with a large total reduction ratio for high-grade steel strips effectively using a small number of mill stands becomes practicable. At least one of the embodiments clearly shows acceptable productivity that can stand comparison with a typical conventional cold rolling system.
Abstract:
A process for applying a defined surface roughness to a metal strip, especially steel strip, for preventing the sticking of strip during subsequent annealing in a bell-type annealing installation includes cold rolling the metal strip in at least one reversing roll stand. The cold rolled metal strip is then guided to a temper rolling stand for wet rolling the cold rolled metal strip through at least one pass for applying the defined surface roughness to the metal strip. For this purpose, the flattening rolls of the temper rolling stand are replaced with rough rolls.
Abstract:
A method for forming a longitudinally extending keyway portion in a mill roll having a central bore, in which the keyway portion may be either a keyway or a tab portion. A cutting head is provided, and includes a body and one or more cutting tools extending from the periphery of the cutting head body. The cutting head is driven through the central bore of the mill roll, and the cutting tools form one or more keyway portions adjacent and communicating with the central bore.
Abstract:
A method for arranging jet cleaning nozzles comprising: arranging multiple rows of nozzles in a parallel and uniform manner along a lengthwise direction of a metal plate strip; arranging the nozzles in each row at an equal interval; arraying adjacent rows of nozzles in a staggered manner along the widthwise direction of the metal plate strip so as to form a nozzle matrix; wherein each nozzle is perpendicular to a moving direction of the metal plate strip, and the perpendicular distance of each nozzle to a surface of the metal plate strip is the same. Through the method for arranging jet cleaning nozzles, nozzles can be flexibly controlled based on the change of the geometric relationship between nozzles, in order to implement efficient and continuous descaling on the surfaces of a metal plate strip with different width specifications and different requirements on the descaling speed. In this way, waste of energy and water resources occurred when changing specifications is avoided, and the phenomenon that upper and lower nozzles spray to each other is also avoided, thereby achieving flexible and efficient control over the arrangement mode of jet cleaning nozzles for descaling.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method of a cleaning a metal strip (1). In order to improve the cleaning of the strip, according to the invention, it is provided that the metal strip (1) is first subjected to a first high-pressure cleaning (4) with at least one liquid jet in a first region (2) of a cleaning device (3), and in that the metal strip (1) thereafter is subjected to an ultrasonic cleaning (6) in a second region off the cleaning device (3), at which the metal strip (1) is displaced through a container filled with liquid. The invention further relates to a device for cleaning a metal strip.
