摘要:
A system for fabricating a free form structure of a composite material including carbon nanotubes. The system includes a discharge assembly and a composite formation device operatively linked with the discharge assembly. The discharge assembly dispenses a fusing agent such as for example a high energy density emission, a laser emission or a particle beam emission. The composite formation device includes a composite generator and an arranger in operative engagement with a composite generator. The composite generator engages with the fusing agent so as to create a composite nodal element. The composite nodal element includes a matrix and a multiplicity of fibers formed of carbon nanotubes dispersed throughout the matrix. The arranger positions one node relative to another to define the free form structure.

An apparatus for heat treatment of oblong articles, such as monofilaments, multifilaments, tapes or webs of plastics, comprises a fixed bottom member (2) and a cover member (3) hingedly secured thereto along one long side, where the cover member (3) in the closed state together with the bottom member (2) define a hot-air channel (12). This hot-air channel extends lengthwise through the apparatus between the bottom member (2) and the cover member (3) from an inlet (14) to an outlet (15) in their respective ends in the apparatus. Means are provided for sealingly closing the slit (17) between abutting portions of the bottom member (2) and the cover member (3). These means for closing the slit (17) on the side of the apparatus being opposite the hinged side of the cover member (3) comprise a sluicing means (16). The sluicing means (16) is adapted to allow a lateral introduction of separate oblong articles into the hot-air channel (12) through a feeding track without completely opening said channel.
摘要:
A system and method for building three dimensional objects may adjust data used to build the objects to, for example, improve quality or correct for defects. A printer may, for example, accept data representing the object and modify the data according to an adjustment parameter; the printer may build the object according to the parameter. The parameter may be, for example, fixed in the printer, user entered, and/or calculated by the printer. In one embodiment, a support pedestal may be built of deposited material before the object is built.

A process for forming a three-dimensional article in sequential layers in accordance with a digital model of the article. The process comprises the steps of defining a layer of a first liquid, applying a second liquid to the first liquid layer in a pattern corresponding to the digital model, and repeating these steps to form succesive layers. The first liquid comprises a first active component and the second liquid includes a second active component capable of reacting with the first reactive component so that the article is built up in layers.

In stereolithographic apparatus and method, a mask is formed on a light-transmissible member (glass plate) on the basis of stereolithographic data for one layer of photohardenable resin; photohardenable resin of one layer is successively supplied to form an unhardened resin layer of photohardenable resin; if necessary, a film having light transmission is attached onto the unhardened resin layer so as to cover the unhardened resin layer in close contact with the unhardened resin layer; the light-transmissible member having the mask on or above the film; the unhardened resin layer is plane-exposed to light through the mask to harden the photohardenable resin of the unhardened resin layer; and the light-transmissible member and the film are evacuated from the hardened photohardenable resin layer after the exposure by the exposure means, thereby obtaining a desired three-dimensional object through stereolithography. As the photohardenable resin may be used having a melting temperature ranging from 5 to 90null C. when unhardened. In this cases in at least a part of the photohardened layer forming/laminating process, under a state that an unhardened photohardenable resin layer forming the same surface as a photohardened layer which has been already formed is kept solid at a temperature less than the melting temperature, a layer of photohardenable resin is formed on the surface of the solid photohardenable resin layer, and the photohardenable resin layer is exposed to light controlled on the basis of stereolithographic data to laminate a photohardened layer on the solid photohardenable resin composition layer.

A non-skid surface for containers having a generally planar base layer with an upper surface, a lower surface, and a surface area. A plurality of bumps are disposed spaced apart over and projecting upward relative to the upper surface over a substantial portion of the surface area of the base layer. The bumps are shaped and arranged to accept a container placed on the non-skid surface such that a support rim of a bottom of the container registers between bumps and rests solely on the upper surface of the base layer. The bumps are shaped and arranged to accept a container in this manner in a plurality of positions over the surface area. A method of forming the non-skid surface can include selecting at least a size and a shape of a first container bottom rim. A plurality of first container rim locations are plotted in a first repeating location pattern of a desired spacing. Each of the plurality of first container rim locations corresponds to the first container bottom rim size and shape. A plurality of protrusions are provided on a surface and are positioned and arranged spaced apart over and projecting upward from the surface over a substantial portion of the surface area. The plurality of protrusions are arranged in a repeating bump pattern that corresponds to the first repeating location pattern so as not to overlie the plurality of first container rim locations.

A method is provided for producing fine denier multicomponent thermoplastic polymer filaments incorporating high melt-flow rate polymers. Multicomponent filaments are extruded such that the high melt-flow rate polymer component is substantially surrounded by one or more low melt-flow rate polymer components. The extruded multicomponent filament is then melt-attenuated with a significant drawing force to reduce the filament diameter and form continuous, fine denier filaments.
