摘要: The invention relates to a process for melt extruding a film layer of a thermoplastic olefin which comprises extruding the film having physical characteristics under process conditions selected by reference to the Draw ratio Dr and the Aspect ratio A such that draw resonance is avoided in which in addition the process conditions are defined by reference to the Deborah number such that the molten polymer is extruded at a Draw ratio of at least 30 in a high elasticity region at a &lgr;c value of characteristic time as defined herein of from 0.001 to 0.6 s, a Deborah number as defined herein in excess of 0.005 and an A value as defined herein lower than 0.8. Narrower ranges of these parameters may be defined for application of the invention to different polymer types.

摘要: In order to provide a raw material for foam rubber coated gaskets having a stable sealing property in a wide temperature range, a foam rubber layer or a liquid silicone foam rubber layer is formed on one surface of a metal plate, while a liquid silicone foam rubber layer is formed on the other surface thereof. The liquid silicone foam rubber layer is formed between the metal plate and a film. The film is later removed. Resilience after exposure to a high temperature atmosphere increases and a sealing property improves by forming the liquid silicone foam rubber layer in this way.

摘要: A plastic canister for storing and shipping drill bits, especially roller cone drill bit, has a pin-holder built into the lid of the canister for ease of field dressing the bit. The lid and body of the container are slip fit to one another and indexed to each other for positive positioning in their relationship. Safety features include the use of a conductive plastic polymer, a non-rolling base, mating protrusions and recesses for stacking, recessed areas for strapping, and welded loop handles.

The substrate is placed in a mold, wherein a portion of the fixing portion is protruding from the mold. The fixing portion is fixed by a fixing device outside the mold. Then, the molded substance covering the substrate is formed within the mold.

The process includes aqueous solutions of necessary metal precursors and an aqueous solution of a water-soluble polymer. After a coating operation, the resultant coating is fired at high temperatures to yield optical quality metal oxide thin films.

摘要: This invention provides improved methods and compositions for achieving material coloration using particle scattering. These coloration effects can be designed to be either highly stable or dependent upon the switching effects of either temperature, integrated thermal exposure, moisture absorption, or exposure to actinic radiation. Articles employing materials with these coloration effects are described. Composition comprise a solid, light-transmitting matrix component having a non-liquid particle scattering colorant dispersed. Articles are produced wherein another solid second matrix component has an electronic transition colorant dispersed therein and the first and second compositions are disposed on one another and optionally interpenetrate each other. Colored articles are produced in the form of fibers, films and molded articles.
