摘要： A system for adjusting a path of a wire includes a precast pulley assembly having at least one precast pulley having at least first and second positions. The at least one precast pulley may be adjustable from the first position to the second position without a user touching the at least one precast pulley. A path of a wire is adjusted when disposed around the at least one precast pulley when it is in the second position instead of in the first position. In one embodiment, the precast pulley assembly includes first and second precast pulleys disposed in an adjacent relationship with respect to one another, wherein a wire can selectively pass over one or both of the first and second precast pulleys.

摘要： Logs being fed by opposing feed rolls can be simultaneously rotated in one direction or the other by selective tilting of the opposing rolls in respectively opposite directions. The amount of rotation during longitudinal feed of the log can be controlled by returning the rolls to the untilted or normal feed positions after the desired rotational movement is achieved. Tandem interconnected cylinder compartments and associated pistons utilize hydraulic pressure from a source as a coupling medium to effect tilting of a roll in either direction and back from a normal position through simple two-position four-way valves with neutral-seeking control means operating the valves, such that release of the controller by the operator causes the feed rolls to return to normal position. Automatic sensing of log position in relation to the feed path releases the grip on the logs by retracting the rolls should the log become temporarily misaligned, and restores the grip on the logs for resumption of feed once the log settles back to the normal position.

摘要： Elongate round workpieces W (e.g. bar or tube) are loaded singly from a rack (252) on to a supporting cradle formed by four ball castors (38). At each end of the cradle is an upper operating unit (20) and (22) comprising a machining unit having a chamfering tool (34) and a workpiece-driving unit having a driving wheel (32) in frictional engagement with the workpiece. The wheels (32) are rotated about their axes to rotate the workpiece, and further can be pivoted to each side of a neutral position in order to drive the workpiece along its length into engagement with first one chamfering tool and then the other. The operating units are mounted on upper guide rails (16) and (18) for adjustment of the distance between them. Lower operating units mounted on lower guide rails (24) and (26) comprise deburring tools (36) which also operate on the workpiece ends, adjacent to the chamfering tools (34).

摘要： A method for feeding a yarn to a textile machine selectively under conditions of positive and capstan feed. The method comprises wrapping multiple turns of yarn around a feed wheel and a smooth, straight-sided upstanding member alongside the feed wheel and inclined to the rotary axis of the feed wheel, and driving the feed wheel by frictional contact with a flexible tape that extends over only a part of the axial extent of the feed wheel. The positive feed mode is established by passing the yarn repeatedly through the nip of the tape and feed wheel. The capstan feed mode is established by feeding the yarn away from the nip. In either mode, separation of successive turns of yarn is achieved by the upstanding member, and when guiding the yarn from one mode to the other there is an axial movement of the yarn turns over the upstanding member to obtain free and unobstructed re-positioning of those turns on the said member.
