摘要: A method of treating a metal carbonate salt includes hydrolyzing a metal halide salt to form a hydrohalic acid and a hydroxide salt of the metal in the metal halide salt. The metal includes an alkaline earth metal or an alkali metal. The method includes reacting the hydrohalic acid with the metal carbonate salt, wherein the metal carbonate salt is a carbonate salt of the alkaline earth metal or alkali metal, to form CO2 and the metal halide salt. At least some of the metal halide salt formed from the reacting of the hydrohalic acid with the metal carbonate salt is recycled as at least some of the metal halide salt in the hydrolyzing of the metal halide salt to form the hydrohalic acid and the hydroxide salt.

摘要: A treatment system for removing hardness, silicon, and turbidity from wastewater having a high salt concentration, comprising an integrated reaction apparatus comprising a reaction box and a chemical drug adding device, and a membrane separation apparatus comprising a membrane pool and a membrane component. The wastewater having the high salt concentration enters the reaction box; a required chemical drug is added to the wastewater by means of the chemical drug adding device; the chemical drug and the wastewater are fully mixed and reacted to produce different kinds of sludge particles; a sludge particle mixed liquid directly enters the membrane pool; under the action of an aeration device, the sludge particle mixed liquid is in a suspension state and uniform in concentration, and is screened and filtered by the membrane component; and produced water is discharged from the membrane pool, and intercepted sludge particles are discharged from the membrane pool.

摘要: Embodiments disclosed herein are directed to methods and systems for treating wastewater via forward osmosis. By way of example, the methods and systems disclosed herein may be used to filter one or more precipitated salts and/or other particles from wastewater generated by power plants such as flue gas wastewater, oil and gas wastewater, and other industrial processes. For example, the methods and systems disclosed herein may be used to filter one or more precipitated salts from a wastewater feed concentrate formed during the forward osmosis process that is recirculated through at least one membrane module to continue the forward osmosis process. Filtering the one or more precipitated salts from the wastewater feed concentrate helps limit clogging of open channel feed spacer(s) of the at least one membrane module.

摘要: An apparatus for evaporative concentration of water, containing hardness-causing substances, to be treated using hot lime softening, includes: a first evaporator configured to form first concentrated water from the water to be treated by evaporatively concentrating the water by first heat exchange with hot steam; a hot lime softener configured to precipitate and to separate hardness-causing substances contained in the first concentrated water from at least a portion of the first concentrated water from the first evaporator by reaction with lime and configured to remove the hardness-causing substances from the first concentrated water; and a second evaporator configured to form second concentrated water by further evaporatively concentrating at least a portion of the first concentrated water that passed through the hot lime softener by second heat exchange with hot steam.

The effective de-scaling of such streams by the inventive methods: (1) enhances the performance, efficiency and cost effectiveness of desalination processes; and (2) allows the viable use of the de-scaled reject brine from desalination processes, for example, as a suitable saline water for oil-gas field's water injection operations to improve hydrocarbons recovery and/or as a feed stock for chlor-alkali industries.

摘要: A process for recovering oil is provided. The process entails recovering an oil-water mixture from an oil-bearing formation. Next, the process entails separating oil from the oil-water mixture and producing produced water having hardness and other scale-forming compounds, suspended solids, free oil and emulsified oil. A pre-treatment process is undertaken to remove hardness and other scale-forming compounds. This entails precipitating hardness and other scale-forming compounds. After the precipitation of hardness and other scale-forming compounds, the produced water is directed to a membrane separation unit for filtering the produced water and producing a retentate having suspended solids, hardness and other scale-forming compounds, free oil and emulsified oil. The membrane separation unit also produces a permeate stream substantially free of hardness and other scale-forming compounds, suspended solids, free oil and emulsified oil. Thereafter, the permeate stream is chemically treated to enhance the recovery of oil in the oil-bearing formation. After treating the permeate stream from the membrane separation unit, the treated permeate is injected into the oil-bearing formation.

摘要: One or more techniques and/or systems are disclosed for a process of reducing the usage of lime in a lime slurry, comprising the steps of: 1) forming a mixture comprising at least one polymeric dispersant comprising a straight chain polyacrylate homopolymer and a quantity of water; 2) introducing the mixture to a vessel prior to slaking for preparation of the lime slurry; and 3) slaking a quantity of lime and the mixture in the vessel to form the lime slurry, wherein the usage of lime in the lime slurry is reduced by about 25% to about 37%.
