    摘要: Alloy for carburized bearing members intended to be used at operating temperatures up to 1000.degree.F, characterized in having the ability to achieve and retain high surface hardness after carburization coupled with good hot-workability which enables billets formed from the alloy to be pierced in a seamless tube-forming operation. Also described is the method for heat treating such an alloy to achieve the desired surface hardness, on the order of Rockwell C58 and higher. The alloy contains, as essential constituents, 0.1 to 0.3% carbon, 0.2 to 1% manganese, 0.2 to 0.6% silicon, from an effective amount up to 1.2% chromium, 2.5 to 3.5% nickel, 4 to 6% molybdenum and 0.25 to 0.85% vanadium.

    摘要: A method of making a ball stud in which a low carbon steel or a low carbon alloy steel is used as a starting material, the material is coldly formed into the ball stud, a lower carbon content and smaller carburization depth are selected in comparison with an ordinary carburization method and diffusion heat treatment of said material is carried out at substantially the same temperature as the carburization temperature, then said material is subjected to quenching and tempering treatment and finally induction hardening is applied only to the ball portion of said ball stud.

    摘要: A quartz crystal resonator tuning plating automatic control process utilizing an automatic feedback control circuit in a process loop with the quartz crystal being metal plating tuned in an oscillator circuit. The frequency of the oscillator circuit is mixed with a reference frequency and the difference frequency is converted to dc applied to an RC circuit connected to a power amplifier for developing an exponential power output response from the power amplifier that melts and vaporizes plating metal (such as gold) in a vacuum chamber. This results in the plating rate on the quartz crystal being tuned processed tapering off from a much higher rate to a very low plating rate as the desired tuned frequency is approached. Minimum power level and shutoff controls are provided for the power amplifier in attaining desired levels of product frequency adjustment and plating cutoff.
