    摘要: An engine system and a method of starting an internal combustion engine of the engine system are described. In one embodiment, the method includes adjusting a fuel pressure within a fuel rail to a first value; after the fuel pressure within the fuel rail attains the first value, initiating delivery of fuel to the internal combustion engine from the fuel rail by successively injecting fuel directly into combustion chambers of the internal combustion engine; and after at least a first fuel injection event, reducing the fuel pressure within the fuel rail from the first value to a second value over subsequent successive fuel injection events by adjusting an operating parameter of the high pressure fuel pump. The method may optionally include increasing an air-fuel ratio over subsequent successive fuel injection events after fuel delivery is initiated by varying an amount of fuel that is directly injected into the combustion chambers.

    摘要: A metering and distribution valve assembly is proposed for a fuel injection system of an internal combustion engine. The metering and distribution valve assembly includes a control slide having a head 68 and a control edge and a slotted sleeve with at least two control slits. The control edge opens the control slits to a greater or lesser degree in accordance with the relative motion between the control slide and the control slits in the slotted sleeve. An end face of the control slide adjacent to the control edge is exposed to a control pressure which is lower than the system pressure engaging the control edge. The pressure drop at the circumference of the control slide head formed between the control edge and the end face is capable of being influenced in such a manner that the control slide head rests unilaterally on the slotted sleeve at least during a portion of the displacement movement. As a result, better metering precision is obtained. The unilateral resting of the control slide head on one side of the slide bore can be effected either by the application of fuel at system pressure at the aperture or by the application of fuel at control pressure at the longitudinal groove.

    摘要: An air/fuel ratio compensating device is provided for association with an internal combustion engine having a fuel control valve, air suction pipe means and pedal accelerator means, the compensating device including an area flow metal system made up of a flow detection valve positioned upstream in the air suction pipe means and operatively associated with the fuel control valve, a flow control valve positioned downstream in the air suction pipe means in series with the flow detection valve and being operatively connected to the accelerator pedal means, the area flow meter system enabling the difference in pressure existing on opposite sides of the flow detection valve to be maintained at a predetermined value to insure that the amount of air flow is proportional to the opening area of the flow detection valve thus permitting a determination of the amount of air flow on the basis of the opened area of the flow detection valve, a feedback control mechanism for controlling the area control flow meter and including pressure sensitive amplifier means to detect and amplify the deviation of the difference in pressure, valve opening means connected to the amplifier means and operatively associated with the flow detecting valve for opening and closing the flow detection valve by the output from the amplifier means, and compensating means for compensating for the set value placed in the pressure sensitive amplifier means according to the operating conditions of the internal combustion engine.

    摘要: A mechanical, throttle body injection apparatus has an air valve positioned metering rod controlling fuel flow from a constant pressure fuel source through one side of a pressure regulator valve to a nozzle for continuous fuel injection into the throttle bore of the throttle valve controlling induction flow therethrough. Excess fuel, not metered by the metering rod, applies a control pressure to the other side of the pressure regulator valve and is returned to a fuel reservoir via a drain passage, flow through which is controlled by a pulse width modulated solenoid valve. The apparatus includes means for fuel enrichment at cold start and during engine warm-up.

    摘要: In a fuel injection system, the combination of an air measuring valve, biasing structure and an air suction tube of an internal combustion engine. The suction tube defines an air flow cross section and the air measuring valve provides a controlled flow of air through the flow cross section, with the air measuring valve being mounted eccentrically within the suction tube against a force produced by the biasing structure to effect the noted control.
