摘要: There is disclosed a method of operating an engine assembly including a combustion engine and a common-rail injector. The method includes: injecting fuel into a combustion chamber of the combustion engine via the common-rail injector thereby generating a backflow of fuel; and powering an actuator using at least a portion of the backflow of fuel. An engine assembly including the combustion engine is disclosed; the engine assembly having a fuel circuit fluidly connecting a fuel source, the common-rail injector, and the second injector outlet together. The fuel circuit has an actuator sub-circuit operatively connected to an outlet of the common-rail injector and an actuator fluidly connected to the actuator sub-circuit.

摘要: A method for controlling an internal combustion engine having a plurality of cylinders including a first cylinder and one or more remaining cylinders includes selecting a desired auto-ignition dwell for a first combustion cycle for the first cylinder of the plurality of cylinders. A first fuel mass is provided to the first cylinder which is combusted during the first combustion cycle. An actual auto-ignition dwell for the first combustion cycle which results from the first fuel mass is determined and a dwell error is calculated. The dwell error is used to determine a second fuel mass which provided to the first cylinder and which is combusted during the second combustion cycle.

Where it is determined to implement the coasting, power transmission between the engine and the drive wheels is cut off and the coasting is implemented, and where it is determined not to implement the coasting, power transmission between the engine and the drive wheels is maintained. As a result, the implementation of coasting that can provide a sense of anxiety or discomfort to the driver can be suppressed.

摘要: A fuel injection control apparatus for fuel injection at optimum timing in correspondence with level of gas flow velocity in an intake port upon intake stroke injection. A fuel injection valve is controlled so as to set a large majority (more than half) of an injection period to inject fuel during an intake stroke in respective cylinders within a period where intake port gas pressure is increased. Upon intake stroke injection, the fuel is injected at optimum timing in correspondence with the direction and the level of gas flow velocity in the intake port. Accordingly, the status of air-fuel mixture in a combustion chamber is excellent. It is possible to improve fuel consumption and to reduce exhaust emission.

摘要: An engine-powered work tool includes an engine having a crank shaft, an output controller and a wind governor. The output controller includes an output control shaft angularly rotatable about its axis for controlling a rotation speed of the crank shaft. The wind governor can control the angular rotation of the output control shaft and includes: a governor plate for receiving cooling air generated at a cooling fan connected to the crank shaft; an arm fixed to the output control shaft; and a governor spring connected to the arm for biasing the output control shaft to increase the rotation speed of the crank shaft. The governor plate functions to bias the output control shaft to decrease the rotation speed of the crank shaft upon receipt of the cooling air. The governor spring has an end changeable in position relative to the output controller among a plurality of prescribed positions.

摘要: In an internal combustion engine 20 that promotes combustion of fuel injected from an injector 50 to a combustion chamber 21 by way of electromagnetic wave plasma, a plurality of pieces of the electromagnetic wave plasma are generated respectively for a plurality of jet flows injected from the injector 50. A plurality of antennae 36 are provided respectively for a plurality of injection holes of the injector 50. Each antenna 36 is disposed on an exposed surface 46a of a piston 46 exposed to the combustion chamber 21 at a location corresponding to each injection hole 55. While the injector 50 injects fuel, each antenna 36 emits the electromagnetic wave to the combustion chamber 21, thereby generating the electromagnetic wave plasma.

摘要: A fuel injection control apparatus of an internal combustion engine, which can appropriately control the amount of fuel injection from an in-cylinder injection valve so as to achieve a desired air-fuel ratio, regardless of the operating state of the internal combustion engine, is provided. The fuel injection control apparatus comprises: an additional injection means which, when determining that the operating state of the internal combustion engine is a transient state, allows the in-cylinder injection valve to inject a fuel amount conformed to a changing intake air amount; and a subtraction means for subtracting a minimum fuel amount, injectable from the in-cylinder injection valve, from a fuel amount to be injected, before injection by the additional injection means is performed.

摘要: An internal combustion engine includes a first injector and a second injector for injecting fuel directly into a combustion chamber in a cylinder in a crank case of the internal combustion engine. The combustion chamber is delimited at one side by a piston which is arranged in the cylinder so as to carry out a stroke and at the other side by a cylinder head. At least one gas exchange inlet valve and a gas exchange outlet valve are provided in the cylinder head for a charge exchange. The first injector is largely oriented in the direction of a cylinder axis, and the second injector is oriented at an angle to the cylinder axis. Maximally 80% of a full-load fuel quantity required by the internal combustion engine for a full load can be introduced into the cylinder using the first injector and maximally 50% using the second injector. The injectors can be configured for smaller fuel flow rates using the internal combustion engine design and operating method, whereby the precision of the injection is improved.
