    摘要: A hydraulic brake includes: an inner pad and an outer pad located to sandwich a rotor configured to rotate with a wheel between the inner pad and the outer pad; a wheel cylinder including a cylinder body including a cylinder bore, a hydraulic pressure chamber formed in the cylinder body, and a first piston liquid-tightly and slidably fitted in the cylinder bore and configured to be moved by a hydraulic pressure in the hydraulic pressure chamber so as to press the inner pad against the rotor; and a drive member configured to be moved, by the hydraulic pressure in the hydraulic pressure chamber, in a direction opposite to a direction in which the first piston moves, so as to press the outer pad against the rotor. The cylinder body includes a fragile portion at a portion corresponding to the hydraulic pressure chamber.

    摘要: A self-energizing disc brake includes a brake-internal hydraulic arrangement with a supply circuit and an expansion vessel; a brake application device having a cylinder for applying a brake pad toward a brake disc; a force transmission unit supporting the brake pad at a wedge angle on the brake application device; a tangential-force absorbing cylinder for switching over the wedge angle, which is operatively connected to the force transmission unit; an electric-motor actuator for acting on the brake application device via the hydraulic arrangement; and a control unit. The force transmission unit has a deflection lever and a shoulder element attached thereto. Rolling surfaces thereof are in contact with respective corresponding rolling surfaces of a brake application element of the cylinder and a brake pad support device. The deflection lever has a pressure section with a rolling surface in operative connection with the tangential-force absorbing cylinder.

    摘要: A twin piston caliper with an electric parking brake and method of operating such a twin piston caliper with an electric parking brake. The twin piston caliper housing comprises two separate inner brake pads for each of the two pistons; one outer brake pad at the outer housing finger area; an electric parking brake mechanism configured to be incorporated in between the two pistons so that it is not embedded in the hydraulic piston and not the hydraulic brake fluid; and wherein the electric parking brake mechanism uses its own electric parking brake friction brake pad to clamp against the brake rotor. The method of operating the twin piston caliper with the electric parking brake comprising the following steps: using hydraulic pressure, preferably high pressure overlay, to clamp up inner brake pads and the outer brake pad against a brake rotor; applying the electric parking brake mechanism to clamp an electric parking brake friction brake pad against the brake rotor; releasing the hydraulic pressure to unclamp the two inner brake pads whereby the electric parking brake mechanism maintains the clamp between the outer brake pad and the electric parking brake friction brake pad.

    摘要: A dual action hydraulic clutch system. The system includes a master cylinder having an outer piston therein, wherein the outer piston includes a channel therethrough that can receive an inner piston therein. A gap is formed between the outer and inner pistons, such that activation of the outer piston activates the inner piston once the outer piston has traveled a length of the gap. The outer piston forces hydraulic fluid through an outer outlet connected to a hydraulic clutch, and the inner piston forces hydraulic fluid through an inner outlet connected to a rear brake, allowing a user to simultaneously disengage the clutch and engage the rear brake. A lever is connected to the outer piston, such that the lever can move the outer piston between a resting position, a clutch position, and a brake position. The master cylinder can secure to a support surface via a mounting bracket thereon.
