    摘要: This invention discloses uninterrupted shifting in transmissions with the use of controlled rotation to achieve desired profile for input to output ratio, thereby eliminating synchronized clutch. Controlled rotation achieved using non-circular gears or Geneva pin and slot wheel mechanism with a customized path for the slot, is used to achieve multiple speed/infinitely variable transmission ratios and/or to transition from one transmission ratio to another. The transition happens over multiple rotations of the input making it highly suited for high torque applications. Since it is not using sprag or one way bearing engine breaking can be achieved. Infinitely Variable Transmission offers steady and uniform output for a steady and uniform input. With co-axial input and output, using planetary gear system, the output can be made continuous from forward to reverse. Multi-Speed uninterrupted shifting is achieved without the need for synchronizers and using a dog clutch or similar device.

    摘要: Service equipment 10 for use in hostile environments includes a detachable service unit 20 secured to a stationary service unit 50 as shown in FIG. 1. The detachable service unit includes a housing 28 with an exterior plate 22, a power control interface 16 for connection to an exterior power source 48, locating pins 30a-30d located in said exterior plate, an electrical connector 40 in the exterior plate electrically coupled to said power control interface, and a pair of clamping receptacles 24 and 25 formed in the exterior plate and located on adjacent opposite edges of the exterior plate as shown in FIGS. 4A and 4B. The stationary unit includes an electrical connector 46 for connection to the electrical connector of the detachable service unit, a clamping apparatus 60 for clamping and unclamping the detachable service unit from the stationary unit, a base clamp assembly 120 shown in FIG. 5A for mounting the clamping apparatus onto the stationary unit, and locating pin holes 51 shown in FIG. 2 for receiving the locating pins and aligning the detachable service unit onto the stationary unit. The detachable service unit and stationary unit have mating scalloped faces shown in FIG. 4B which aid in alignment and provide a mechanism for heat dissipation.

    摘要: A mechanism for prepositioning the input shaft of a bidirectional Geneva drive to effect incremental rotation of the output shaft of the Geneva drive, upon rotation of the input shaft, at a predictable time. The Geneva drive has an input shaft rotatable in opposite directions through active angles which respectively effect rotation of the output shaft. The prepositioning mechanism comprises a member, coupled to the input shaft, and having a pair of spaced, oppositely directed abutment surfaces. A locating pawl is selectively moved to a position to be engaged by one abutment surface when the input shaft is rotated in one direction and the other abutment surface when the input shaft is rotated in the opposite direction to angularly preposition the input shaft at a location from which rotation of such input shaft one of through its respective active angles is accurately predictable. The locating pawl is thereafter moved to disengage the engaged abutment surface so that the input shaft is rotatable through such respective active angle to incrementally rotate the output shaft at a predictable time based on movement of the pawl.

    摘要: An indexing apparatus (10) is disclosed which is designed for use with various types of work transfer equipment and is operative to provide smooth rapid jerk-free acceleration and deceleration whereby workpieces may be smoothly and rapidly transferred between operating stations. The indexing apparatus (10) includes suitably arranged cams (90, 90', 106, 124, 130, 132, 150, 162, 180) and cam followers (38, 52, 114, 116, 166, 168, 174) which operate to convert a driving input motion which is typically rotary in nature to a desired output motion which may be either linear or rotary but which is characterized by substantially jerk-free, smooth acceleration and deceleration at the beginning and end of the respective indexing movements. In one embodiment the apparatus comprises a crank arm (22) having cam followers (38, 52) provided thereon which control pivotal movement of transfer arm (58) which is in turn connected to a linearly reciprocable apparatus which may include a work supporting surface for example. In another embodiment cam followers (114, 116) provided on a rotating crank (112) arm are directly engageable with camming surfaces ( 124, 130, 132) provided on a reciprocable work supporting surface. In yet another embodiment, the cam surfaces (150, 162, 180) are secured on the under surface (144) of a rotatable indexing table (140) and the apparatus is adapted to sequentially index a workpiece supported thereon through a plurality of work stations.

    摘要: A shoulder arm, especially a rifle, having a barrel, a recess, which is perpendicular to the axis of the barrel, formed in a member which is fixedly connected with the barrel, and a roller-shaped breech member coaxially arranged in the recess and capable of being swivelled about its longitudinal axis for loading. The breech member contains a firing chamber which, in the firing position of the breech member, is in alignment with the barrel and is closed to the rear. The shoulder arm also has an arrangement for swivelling the breech member out of the firing position and into a loading position, in which the firing chamber is accessible for the introduction of a cartridge. The recess is designed in the form of a cylindrical hole, whose wall serves to mount the roller-shaped breech member and to directly close the firing chamber when it is located in the firing position. The breech member is retained in its respective position by means of the swivelling arrangement which can only rotate the breech member in one direction. A magazine and an ejector, are mounted on the same side of the shoulder arm or weapon and above the barrel.
