摘要: A smart circuit breaker is provided. An electronic device can be electrically positioned between a utility and an electrical power outlet, electrical subpanel, load center, transformer, or other power distribution center. The electronic device can include a circuit breaker associated with an electrical power circuit, a communications device, a monitoring device and an electronic circuit. The electronic circuit can be operable with the circuit breaker, the communications device and the monitoring device to determine an account of a user of the electrical power circuit and to determine from the account whether to supply power to the electrical power circuit. Further, the electronic circuit can be operable with the circuit breaker, the communications device and the monitoring device to, if power is supplied to the electrical power circuit, charge the account and activate the circuit breaker if the monitoring device detects an undesirable power condition.

摘要: In this power control apparatus, a current flowing in a main current (201) is detected by a current transformer (202) and a zero-phase current transformer (203), provided in the main circuit. A value of this current is provided to a CPU (214) included in an intelligent controller (207). A maximum peak value and the like are evaluated by the CPU to be compared with predetermined set values. If those values are equal to or higher than the set values, an excitation signal is applied to a tripping device (205) to release a latch by a latch scheme (206) and thus to trip the circuit breaker. The CPU alters the set value when supplied with a setting alteration instruction from a central monitor (40), and causes the circuit breaker to be tripped when supplied with a stop instruction therefrom.

摘要: An electronic controller, connected to a digital communication network, is responsive to commands from a master controller to control solenoid operated circuit breakers. The electronic controller also determines the status of all circuit breakers and reports back to the master controller to verify that the command from the master controller was executed and to provide historical data regarding the status of the circuit breakers. The electronic controller is synchronized to the same alternating current (AC) power source as the circuit breakers to control the operation of the respective circuit breakers to minimize electromagnetic interference (EMI) caused by the switching of the circuit breakers. The electronic controller further controls the operation of the circuit breakers to reduce the duty cycle of the power supply for the circuit breaker solenoids.

摘要: A unitized combination motor starter is provided with a single insulated housing wherein a plurality of pole units are disposed in side-by-side relationship. The pole units are electrically connected in series with an electromagnetic contactor disposed within the insulated housing and located at one end of the pole units. A spring powered contact operating mechanism for the pole units is disposed on one side of the pole units. An overload sensing electromagnet coil, provided for each of the pole units, is positioned for removal and replacement after opening the front cover of the insulated housing.

More specifically, the low-level fault protection is given by a resettable circuit breaker, and a current-limiting fuse is used both to provide heavy short circuit protection and to also operate fast enough and at low enough currents to protect against burnout or damage of the heater or other current-responsive element of the device protecting the motor against overloads.
