摘要: An electrical generator (114) and a power electronics interface (115) for a direct-drive turbine (110). The turbine (110) may include a rotor (112) for transforming kinetic (from, e.g., wind, water, steam) into mechanical energy, the generator (114) for transforming the mechanical into electrical energy, and the power electronics interface (115) for conditioning the electrical energy for delivery to a power distribution grid (124). The interface (115) includes a three-phase single-stage boost inverter (120) for converting a lower DC voltage into a higher AC voltage, and which uses a synchronous reactance of the generator (114) as a DC-link inductance. The turbine (110) has neither the gearbox of indirect-drive designs nor the electrolytic capacitor bank of conventional direct-drive designs, while still allowing for a substantially smaller number of generator poles, resulting in reduced size, weight, complexity, and cost.

摘要: A power generator comprises a casing (110) that in use is deployed in an environment in which the casing is subjected to an excitation motion such as wave motion. A series of masses (101, 103a-c) is located within the casing, wherein at least a first mass is coupled to the casing by a first spring (102), each of the masses is coupled to at least one adjacent mass by a respective spring, and wherein the casing and the series of masses bring a motion of the power generator into resonance with the excitation motion. A plurality of electric machines each comprising a stator and a field source are each associated with a corresponding mass such that a relative motion of a mass and associated electric machine generates electrical power. A power takeoff circuit receives generated electrical power from the plurality of electric machines and outputs electrical power from the power generator.

The channel control system includes a command section that outputs a command value of a flow rate or pressure of a fluid, an opening degree control unit that calculates a target opening degree based on the command value, and a motor-operated valve installed in a channel through which the fluid flows. The valve opens and closes in accordance with the target opening degree. The hydroelectric power generation system includes a water turbine disposed in the channel, a generator driven by the water turbine, and a generator control unit that controls at least one of a torque and a number of rotations of the generator based on opening degree information that indicates a measured value of an actual opening degree of the valve or an opening degree estimated.

摘要: A downhole power generation system is disclosed, which includes a turbine generator system. The turbine generator system includes a turbine, a generator coupled with the turbine and having an AC-DC rectifier, and an optimized power control unit. The turbine is driven by flow of a downhole fluid to rotate. The generator converts rotational energy from the turbine to electrical energy and outputting a direct current voltage. The turbine generator system is coupled to a load via the optimized power control unit. The optimized power control unit controls to regulate an output voltage of the generator and provides a regulated output voltage to the load so that the turbine generator system has an optimized power output. An optimized power control method for a downhole power generation system is also disclosed.

Each of the first and second power generation facilities includes a water turbine rotating with the water introduced thereinto and a power generator operating according to the rotation of the water turbine. The controller is configured to open and close either or both of the first and second flow rate regulators at the same time.

摘要: A buoyancy powered electrical generator. A source of compressed gas is provided. The gas, which may be air, is compressed using a conventional compressor. In one embodiment, the compressor is powered by a windmill, turbine, or other conventional means. The compressed gas may be stored in a tank for an indefinite period. If necessary, the tank may be transported to the generator via truck, train or other conventional transportation means. During generation, compressed gas is released into a series of hollow, flooded drums mounted on a wheel in a liquid filled chamber. Introducing gas into the drums closes a valve in the drums and evacuates liquid from the drums, causing the drums to become buoyant. The buoyant drums exert a buoyant force on the wheel, causing it to rotate. The wheel is connected to a rotor in a magnetic generator. Rotating the wheel turns the rotor, thereby generating electricity.
