The switching transistor then starts a positive feedback operation through the current transformer and is turned on at high speed. Upon activation of the switching transistor, the magnetic core of the current transformer is saturated by the switching transistor emitter current flowing in the current transformer. Magnetic saturation of the core turns off the switching transistor with the magnetic energy stored in the current transformer.
