摘要: The present invention relates to the technical field of natural medicines, and in particular to a triterpenoid compound with an effect of improving glucose and lipid metabolism disorders, and preparation and application thereof. A novel triterpenoid compound was obtained by separation from Momordica charantia L. for the first time in the present invention. Studies on a mouse primary hepatocyte model and a 3T3-L1 preadipocyte model show that the novel triterpenoid compound in the present invention has activity of regulating glucose and lipid metabolism, and after combination with known triterpenoid compound Momordicoside G, the activity of regulating glucose and lipid metabolism is significantly higher than that of a single compound at the same dose, indicating that the novel triterpenoid compound and a complex thereof in the present invention can be used to improve glucose and lipid metabolism disorders and provide a new way for diabetes treatment.

摘要: The present application relates to a compositions and methods comprising or expressing a hevamine A-related MoMo30 protein from Momordica balsamina. The MoMo30 protein is about 30 kDa in size, is stable after being autoclaved at 120° C. for 30 min, resists proteolytic cleavage by trypsin, exhibits mannose-sensitive binding to HIV gp120, exhibits hemagglutinin and chitinase activity, is capable of activating and stimulating T cell proliferation, is capable of preventing infection by HIV-1 or alleviating symptoms in an HIV-1 infected patients, and comprises an amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 4. The MoMo30 protein and/or a nucleic acid encoding the same may be used in methods for preventing or treating microbial infections by HIV, SARS-CoV-2 and other enveloped viruses, as well as other microorganisms comprising cell surface proteins containing glycan residues, such as mannose.

摘要: Disclosed herein are compositions and methods for acutely raising nitric oxide levels in a subject. In one example, the composition can include, an effective amount of a NOS dependent source of nitric oxide; an effective amount of a NOS independent source of nitric oxide; and an effective amount of a myeloperoxidase inhibitor; wherein the composition acutely raises nitric oxide levels in a subject above a level provided by the available sources of nitric oxide in the subject prior to administration of the composition. Further presented is a method of treating a subject for a condition or disorder that is response to nitric oxide therapy, including: acutely raising nitric oxide levels in a subject by simultaneously increasing biosynthesis of nitric oxide, increasing nitrate/nitrite levels, and inhibiting myeloperoxidase activity.

摘要: The invention provides a method for extracting active therapeutic components from plant materials of the cyclanthera pedata plant which comprises immersing said plant material containing active components and selected from the group consisting of fruits, flowers, leaves, stems, twigs, bark, wood, buds, seeds, roots, and pods in a solvent for a period of time of about 30 minutes to about 10 hours to achieve transfer of active components from the plant material to the solvent, separating the solvent containing active components from the plant material, and evaporating or distilling the solvent to produce a concentrated fraction containing active components. In an embodiment, the watermelon seeds may be Citrullus lanatus seeds.
