    摘要: A cobalt coincidence radioactivity detector is used to separate radioactive concrete dust from uncontaminated dust resulting from dismantling a nuclear power plant. A suction air stream carries the dust through a vacuum line to a cyclone segregator. The dust falls into a smaller first container from the segregator, and the detector detects radioactivity in the filled first container. The dust is transferred from the first container to a second container if the detected radioactivity exceeds a predetermined threshold. The dust is transferred from the first container to a third container if the detected radioactivity does not exceed the predetermined threshold. A filter collects the dust carried past the segregator by the suction air stream. If the radioactivity detected in the dust that collects on the filter exceeds the predetermined threshold, the dust in the first container is transferred to the second container before the first container is allowed to fill.

    摘要: A disc for releasable attachment to a shaft of a disc screen apparatus includes a hub having a bore and a single split defining a pair of opposing ends. The hub also has at least one flexible portion intermediate the opposing ends that permits the opposing ends of the hub to be separated a predetermined distance sufficient to allow the shaft of the disc screen apparatus to pass between the opposing ends into the bore. The hub has plurality of outer impacting portions configured for engaging materials to be classified and propelling the materials in a conveying direction when the hub is rotated. A mechanism is provided to secure the hub to the shaft so that the shaft extends through the bore.

    摘要: A roller conveyor or conveyor-classifier assembly is disclosed which comprises a plurality of rollers (16), a corresponding bearing support block (18) for each end of each of the rollers (16), with each block (18) being of upper case "H" configuration in transverse cross section to define an upper and lower groove (18U and 18L in FIG. 6), and including frame (25) for supporting the blocks (18). The frame assembly (25) comprises oppositely disposed rails (22A, 24A) each having a track (22B, 24B), respectively, adapted to slidably project into oppositely disposed grooves (18U, 18L) in bearing support blocks (18). Shims (36) which are lower "h" configuration in transverse cross section, are insertable from the outboard sides of the frame assemblies (25) and are interposed between adjacent bearing support blocks (18) with the lower portion (36A, 36B) of the "h" configuration being adapted to interlockingly straddle the upwardly projecting lower track (24B) for retention in position to provide a predetermined spacing between the adjacent bearing support blocks (18), and thus, to provide a predetermined clearance or spacing between adjacent rollers (16) supported by the adjacent bearing support blocks (18).

    摘要: The present invention provides methods and systems for reducing moisture in mineral slurries, particularly mineral slurries containing minerals of small particle diameter, using a granular drying material. The invention also relates to novel mineral products and intermediates useful in connection with the process. The method and system reduced moisture by contacting the mineral slurry with the granular drying material. The granular drying material is selected to be readily separated from the dried minerals using a size separation technique such as a sieve screen. The granular drying material is the regenerated, preferably using a process involving heat exchange and cross-flow air. The granular drying material is preferably capable of regeneration and recycling in a continuous process with minimal attrition.
