    摘要: In a process of forming a profiled tread surface on a ski, a cutting tool is moved in steps of defined length in the longitudinal direction of the tread surface to be profiled and in steps of defined length transversely to said longitudinal direction. The cutting tool thus moved is used to form said tread surface with individual recesses, which partly overlap and are defined by sawtooth-shaped step ramps extending in said longitudinal direction. Adjacent transverse rows of said recesses overlap preferably by one-half of the length of each of said transverse steps.

    摘要: A milling head having a shaft for attachment to a machine tool, and at least one cutting insert or bit, characterized in that the cutting insert is supported in a tiltable or swivelable holder having a swivel axis extending perpendicularly to the axis of rotation of the milling head. Stopping means is situated between the milling head and the holder, against which the holder rests in its working position. A cam plate is held in a stationary position such that the cam plate cooperates with the holder to tilt or swivel the latter along a portion of its arcuate movement thereby lifting the cutting insert off the surface to be machined. The stopping means may include travel limit elements that comprise a bore in the holder and a protruding pin which engages with the bore. Biasing means is provided in the form of a spring arranged so that it tends to bias the holder into its working position.

    摘要: A curvilinear surface is formed in work on a moveable table by moving a cutting tool over a curvilinear path. The tool is suspended from a clapper box which is mounted on a slide having a female dovetail mating with a male dovetail affixed to a saddle. The saddle is moveable, perpendicular to the movement of the table during a cutting operation, by rotation of a screw. A first bar is connected rigidly to the slide and is moveable and slideable with the slide. A second bar is pivotally connected to the first bar and guides the first bar and the tool to move in an arc having the same radius of curvature as the curvilinear surface.
